Our J's Pantry, run entirely by volunteers, officially opened on 24th March 2023 and is a CIC No 11531284 It aims to help local families in need, relieving and helping to prevent poverty by means of food provision and is a franchise of the national Your Local Pantry network. Our Pantry is a membership-based food club and sources its food from supermarket surplus, Fareshare and donations to help local people struggling to meet their bills for as long as they need help. Our members, currently just over 100 can visit the Pantry twice a week for a fee of £6. This enables them to choose food items to the value of around £25. In addition members can choose free fresh produce e.g. fruit, vegetables and bakery items for no additional cost. The membership fee is used by the Pantry to meet running costs e.g. utility bills and purchase top-up food stocks as required.

The Open Heaven Church Pantry, run entirely by volunteers, officially opened in December 2020 and the church is a registered charity No 1123352. It aims to help local families in need, relieving and helping to prevent poverty by means of food provision and is a franchise of the national Your Local Pantry network. Our Pantry is a membership-based food club and sources its food from supermarket surplus and donations to help local people struggling to meet their bills for as long as they need help. Our members, currently just over 100, can visit the Pantry once a week for a fee of £5.50. This enables them to choose food items to the value of around £15. In addition, members can choose free fresh produce e.g. fruit, vegetables, pasta and bakery items for no additional cost. The membership fee is used by the Pantry to purchase top-up food stocks as required. We desperately need more donations to provide food to those in need. We have many people who do not have enough money to pay the weekly fee and so we provide free visits and crisis provision.

Community Red Social Supermarket, operated by Community Red CIC, is opening its doors on 1st October 2024 in Wednesbury. Dedicated to addressing food insecurity, the supermarket will offer affordable, nutritious food to individuals and families facing financial hardship. Our mission is to provide a dignified shopping experience for the community, ensuring access to essential groceries at a reduced cost. By partnering with local suppliers and food redistribution organisations, we aim to reduce food waste and support vulnerable residents. Community Red Social Supermarket is committed to building a stronger, more resilient Wednesbury by promoting food security and wellbeing for all.
