The Community Food Project, based in Tan Bank, Wellington, launched in 2016 and thousands of pounds worth of food was collected this month alone. The scheme is run entirely by volunteers and it has no paid staff or directors. Food is collected seven days a week from restaurants and retailers, then immediately distributed to organisations which send the donations to those who are homeless, vulnerable or in need of support. Surplus food is also provided to regular food share events across Shropshire the county. On Christmas Eve, volunteers collected food from four Aldi stores. The project relies on generous donations from the public and businesses to keep going.

We run a community Pantry and Foodbank, supplying food weekly to a wide range of local partners and individuals in need. These include local schools, supported housing providers working with ex-offenders, supported housing providers supporting homeless clients, local churches that run free food shares, and churches that provide a free food delivery...

We at Wrekin View Primary are opening a community kitchen in our school over the holiday periods. This will be a place for our children,parents and people of the local community, can come and have good honest healthy food in a safe environment . There will be activity's for the children run buy volunteers including football,tag rugby and lots more besides . All sorts of board games . This will give a perfect opportunity for our parents to have five minutes relaxing having a drink and a bite to eat, knowing that there children are well catered for and safe. We at wrekin view are a close knit team and want to give back to the community . Food and staffing are always a concern ,So if there are any donations out there regarding food and peoples time. It would be much appreciated. We have opened a community fridge at wrekin View primary school . Where our parents and the local community can come and get a wide varity of free food and house hold products . We are supported by morrisons,Aldi, fareshare. It is open everyday also open during the school holidays to try and reduce holiday hunger. There is also an area where we our parents and the community can get childrens cloths and school uniform for free. The community fridge also delivers food hampers once a week with the help from our local church (All Saints).
