We provide a safe place for anyone from the BH1 post code to meet. In the main, we serve vulnerable adults, including rough sleepers, people with addictions, people with mental health issues, the lonely and anyone who would like a place to meet like-minded people. We are open every day of the week, including weekend. We provide food, shower facilities and a laundry. We also distribute donated clothing. We can also issue Foodbank vouchers (Trussell Trust) to low income families and those struggling financially. We have a number of outside agencies coming into our project, supporting our clients with housing, employment etc. We also provide a number of health services (hairdressing, Hep C Clinic, Eye Test clinic, Podiatry service for homeless clients).

Bournemouth Recycle is a community Facebook group where we work to save items from landfill, while supporting the local community. Many thousands of items are saved from potential landfill and passed onto other people for re-use. We do not charge for our services. The group was founded in 2020 by Sharon Valler and has over 30,000 local members. Bournemouth Recycle is run by an admin team of 60 local volunteers, covering our group, food surplus scheme and charity collection programme. As well as recycling (around 300 posts per day), we collect and distribute food surplus, three times per week, within our local community and offer additional support to NHS staff in the form of food parcels. We also run a monthly charity appeal, collecting items for local organisations, through our drop off points throughout the area. We run two soup kitchens a week to provide help to those in need. We also deliver meals and food to local vulnerable families and assist and support the local homeless community. Soup kitchens are held on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Hope for Food is a Bournemouth based organisation that was founded by Claire Matthews in 2012 with the aim of providing lifes basic essentials on a day to day basis to people in need of help due to the current economic climate. We also aim to try and bring a little happiness back into the lives of people who perhaps, through no fault of their own, find themselves without things most of us take for granted, such as food and shelter. We are entirely volunteer run & rely on donations of food to keep these kitchens & food runs going. We also have a large stock of food items, clothes, shoes and bedding donated by our supporters.
