How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Team Clarewood

Neath, UK

We are a project that house 12 young people aged 16-24 with complex needs who would be homeless if they were not living here. Our aims are to teach them to live independently whilst encouraging them into education or training. We support them 24 hours a day and involve them in activities that promote health and well being whilst encouraging them to make friends and learn new skills. We have recently had funding to build a workshop on the premises and we are presently making items from 100 percent recycled wood such as reindeers and snowmen. The proceeds of these go directly back to the young people and the money is used to help them with travel, clothes food, activities and anything they may require whilst living here at the project. We also have two training flats nearby that they can move into if they are ready to move on but may need additional support for a short while. our long term goals are to move them into more permanent accommodation and for each client this can be between 6 months and 2 years depending on their individual progress.

Clwyd community primary school

Swansea, UK

Our school is committed to providing a nurturing and enriching learning environment for our students. However, like many educational institutions, we face severe budget constraints that can limit our ability to access essential resources and materials. By joining Neighbourly, we're hoping to bridge this gap and ensure that our students have everything they need to succeed. Whether this be food to offer as snacks or for educational purposes, or even educational resources. By partnering with businesses like yours through Neighborly, we're not just seeking goods – we're seeking meaningful connections that contribute to the growth and prosperity of our school community. Together, we can empower our students to reach their full potential and become future leaders in our society. Thank you for considering our school's needs, and we look forward to the possibility of working together to create positive change for our community. We also run a community shop to enable those with limited funds to access foods to make a healthy meal for families. We rely heavily on donations for us to be able to run this. Pupils of the school also have the opportunity to run the community shop to help with learning and day to day activities they will need in the future. Any funds made through the community store goes straight back into it so we can keep it open and running
