How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Petham Primary School

Canterbury, UK

We are a small, rural primary school near Canterbury. We believe in the importance of teaching chilcdren life skills, and cooking is an important part of our curriculum. Due to budget constraints, we are limited in what we can teach the children to cook, and how many children can take part. We grow our own vegetables to cook with, but would like to be able to have access to a wider variety of ingredients so we can teach the children even more! Update- we now distribute more and more food parcels to families who are struggling financially for a variety of reasons. We work together with Aldi, Lidl and M&S and try to combat food insecurity for the children in our care and the wider community around our school.

Porchlight

Canterbury, UK

Porchlight helps people in Kent who have nowhere to go and no-one to turn to. Some are homeless and need our help to escape the streets. Others are struggling to cope with different pressures in their life and need our support to keep on track. We're striving for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.
