Carriers of Hope have teamed up with St. Marks Church and Youth With A Mission (YWAM) to establish a WorldFoods Food Hub. Operating weekly, our aim is to provide culturally relevant food to members and their families. For just £5, individuals who meet the criteria for membership (Refugee, Migrant or Asylum Seeker resident in the CV1 area requiring help towards food costs) can choose a basket of groceries with a retail value of approximately £30. The groceries include Halal meat, fresh bread and a selection of fruit and vegetables – the selection changes weekly and is dependent upon availability.

SDA Community Services is the channel through which we address the needs of our local community. Our active faith is expressed personally in daily service to our local people in need. Some Examples of how we do this: - Social Supermarket tackling food poverty where members pay £7 and get approximately £30 of shopping - Holiday activities and Food programme, a holiday club for children on benefits related free school meals - Warm Hub and Community Cafe where local residents can come be warm without worrying whose paying the bill, have a healthy nourishing meal and friendly conversation. Where we tackle food poverty and social isolation. -At the Warm Hub and Community Cafe residents also have access to computers and tablets where they are supported to engage with the digital world e.g a accessing online information, advice and guidance where we tackle digital poverty and digital exclusion. Health and wellbeing expos giving practical support on living and eating well on a budget -Big Lunch: community event tackling social isolation offering opportunity to lunch and chat
