Save the World Club (SWC) is an environmental creative arts, education and entertainment charity. At SWC’s heart is a commitment to improving the well-being of individuals and communities and protecting the environment demonstrating imaginative skills and solutions and having fun, so we can all live in healthier and more sustainable ways. SWC was set up 30 years ago by Des Kay. The organisation was primarily concerned with Des using recycled materials to create unique kinetic and mechanical structures which told children and family audiences stories of waste and gave other important environmental messages. After many successful years, Professor Kayoss is a legend and SWC has grown to an organisation with thousands of committed supporters. Over the years, we have created Award-winning large community mosaic artworks with thousands involved throughout the process of creation. Using waste materials, many are on display around Kingston Town and the Borough. Our remit for cutting waste extends to monitoring what gets thrown away, and rescuing items able to be recirculated, either as themselves, or through upcycling to something else. We are also key collectors of surplus food that we distribute daily, to local charities, institutions and others in need.

Staywell is an independent charity providing grass roots services with practical help and support. We have over 70 years’ experience supporting people to live safely and independently in their own homes and over the years we have won a number of awards for our work. We have a history of working in innovative ways through our services that local people tell us what they want to help them to remain independent. Raleigh Centre: Our day centre in New Malden namely, the Raleigh Centre, operates a 6 day service from Monday to Saturday. The centre offers a vibrant and welcoming sociable environment and if you live in the Borough transport is available (subject to availability). Hairdressing / Podiatry / Massage / shower facility / Computer Lessons / Arts & Craft groups A range of other activities include: chair based exercise, countdown, book reading, Music group and quizzes and occasional speakers or entertainers Social Saturdays: On the 1st, 3rd and 4th Saturday of each month we offer a Social Saturday, this service is aimed at reducing isolation at the weekend. We offer a social environment with occasional cooked meal on site or fish & chips from our local fish and chip shop. Transport is available (subject to availability). Dementia Service: Our Saturday Club is a dementia specific service and was started in 2010. The aim of the Saturday club is to support people living with dementia and their carers. The club takes place on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and a buffet lunch is provided. There is a contribution requested towards lunch and refreshments. This service provides a social supportive setting and carers find respite with other carers knowing that they are not on their own and that support is available. We receive no formal funding towards this service. Fundraising: As an independent Charity, Staywell relies on the support from the local community. For over 70 years, help from past and present supporters has enabled us to continue the positive work we do. We are currently fundraising towards our transport service for the Raleigh Centre which will enable us to provide a more flexible service to support our members.

Working to strengthen resident migrant communities, our projects revolve around themes of reducing social isolation, inequalities and poverty and improving mental and physical health, and financial and social inclusion.
