ICSS is a small, grassroots, 100% volunteer-run registered charity operating since 2004. We are a passionate group of volunteers helping children from vulnerable groups, such as refugees and children affected by domestic violence in East London, achieve their full potential through education, and in time, they can understand the value of giving back to society. We also operate a food bank serving referred families, providing food and other essentials.

Staff at Jason Lee House are trained to a high standard to offer support around drugs & Alcohol addiction which many rough sleepers are exposed to whilst sleeping rough. Jason Lee House has external contacts within the community whom offer specific programme to help & support service users whom are trying to overcome there addictions. Mental Health is also on the increase and has a detrimental affect on the service users whom are referred to our service. This requires staff to carry out intense assessments to identify risk around managing there mental health. This requires staff to contact relevant external links with the Mental health/social services services within Redbrige & the surrounding area. Once referrals are made and the relevant teams are allocated such as a care coordinator regular meetings are arranged to support the service user. Staff strive to promote Health & Wellbeing amongst our service users using a holistic approach. This is done by engaging the service users in activities both in house and externally. We run arts groups to help promote a relaxed and calm atmosphere.

As a Charity we have always provided food and meals to those in need within our immediate community but, shortly after the start of the Pandemic, we soon became aware of a large number of very needy families, many with young children, with insufficient basic food supplies. As a result, we launched a new food initiative, which serviced some 50 needy families each week, with food gleaned from generous supermarkets, and home-made cooking. Chabad Lubavitch NE London & Essex is now actively involved in feeding hundreds of homeless and needy families each day through a local homeless shelter run by volunteers. The food and other goods that we receive from supermarkets is invaluable to us in achieving our aim of never having to turn anyone away who is hungry or needs our assistance in any way.
