All the services the church offers are completely FREE of CHARGE. We are a church organisation and everything and every service we give is entirely free We a church whose main purpose is not to distribute foods and aids to service users in the community. We are a church like Church of England, Catholic, the Baptist, etc and we have several hundreds of members as congregation. We have a membership of about 5-600 in the Fountain Gate PIWC District alone. The membership is a mixture of people of various levels of social standings that include the poor, socially disadvantaged, immigrant families who have not recourse to public funds, the jobless, single parents, older people, widows, and widowers, the physically and sensory impaired, etc. All these people are in the church that we support daily with the provision of food and finances. It is not difficult to identify them because we live and fellowship with them. Another category of people we support are in the community. We do our own collections of food, clothing, money and other unperishable items and send to homeless people in the streets and homeless people’s shelters (sure you will find some picture from our official website), the church sends donations to residential homes, etc. The Church of Pentecost (PIWC FGT District) which we in Grays are part of collect imperishable quality food items and donate to the Barking and Dagenham Food Bank periodically (some pictures on our official website and social media handles – links on our Neighbourly site. If you guys will support us, we will be able to extend our humanitarian activities to many places and on regular basis. The church operates a project called “We Care Corner” where, food supplies are kept on each church day for families and visitors who are struggling to pick items and food supplies they need for the days ahead. I can bet you, this is a very popular initiative. We are doing so well already as a church, if you help us, we will be able to do more with a lot of resources.

The Community Outreach Team is based in Edmonton, North London. We reach over 1800 families from 4 schools. Our families’ experience financial hardship this can also impact other areas of their lives including their health. To alleviate some of these pressure on our families we provide support around, health and wellbeing, pathways to employment, supporting your child with their learning as well as volunteering opportunities. 2020 has posed additional pressure and restrictions on our families, making basic living standards difficult to maintain. As a team we have adapted to support those in need by establishing a food and clothing bank, provided reading books and games for children, signposted parents to local soup kitchen and provided cooked meals during the school holidays as well as food drops to those families self-isolating. We believe Equity means that each child receives what they need to develop to their full academic and social potential. The work our team carries out tries to reduce some of the pressure placed on families and bring smiles to faces. We are asking for donation for our families of Food (fresh and dried), toiletries, cleaning products, clothing, baby items, books and games and educational resources such as pencil cases, calculators. We are happy to collect items from within the 5 mile radius of Edmonton.

Edible London was formed over 5 years ago but registered in (March 2018) as a community interest company working within and around the surrounding area of the London Borough of Haringey. We believe in win-win dynamics… in sharing… in collaborating…in creating structures built on empathy and abundance. Our goal is to help those in the community who suffer from food poverty to eat a more nutritious diet and, in turn, learn to feed their community through food growing. Created as a coming-together of a diverse, determined and committed crew of local individuals, all working toward an inspiring goal. Planned a brighter future for not only the Wolves Lane Horticultural Centre but also for the local community and those disenfranchised and disconnected with those living around them; all centred around horticulture and community spirit. The idea of food growing bringing people together and closer to the natural world in general, within the geographical location it is situated. Haringey is deeply affected by many issues that you would expect to find in an area with high levels of economic inequality. Food poverty, social isolation, crime, a disenfranchised youth, high levels of this, offsets the relentless march of gentrification, pushing aside individuals and families on lower incomes who have been an integral part of this area for many years and even generations. OUR AMBITION AND LONG-TERM GOALS - To increase our offering to those in the community who suffer from food poverty. - To allow everybody to eat a more nutritious diet, to educate them and allow them to educate others and, in turn, learn to feed their community through food growing and better food education. - To support the local and wider community by providing them with the education and opportunity to support themselves and those in need by growing and getting involved with the process of growing and producing organic sustainable food.
