We are a school at the very heart of our community and we need food to feed our families. The unprecedented events of the COVID 19 pandemic have shaken our community to the core and we are trying as best we can to support families with the basic food to get them through this difficult time. We know our families and have been trying our best to provide food parcels to our most vulnerable but the need is increasing day by day and it is becoming impossible to help everyone. We have many families who were on Zero hours contracts or have No Recourse to Public Funds and have been left devastated as they are unable to work or in many cases claim any benefits. We urgently need extra food to be able to continue to provide food parcels to these families in order to support them though this extremely hard time. Once this is all over and the children return to school and the parents to work our community we be stronger than ever thanks to your support.

Many of the women who attend face real challenges, including food insecurity. FoodCycle is a national charity that builds communities through the power of good food. FoodCycle is based upon the simple idea that waste and poverty should not co-exist and that something powerful can be achieved by cooking and eating together. Every week, volunteers across the country reclaim surplus food destined for the bin. This food is instead cooked into healthy, tasty three-course community meals for vulnerable people. Hosted in the Pilgrims Way Church, FoodCycle East Ham will open end of August 2021 and will serve tasty three course meals. We want to continue serving the community but need three things to help this continue; A) Surplus food from the community - from bakers to grocers, from national retailers to independents B) Lead Cooking volunteers - to ensure that volunteers are supervised in the pick up, cooking and hosting of the meal. We give free training! C) Guests from the community - referrals from other organisations who think their service users may benefit from our meal.
