Resurrected Bites was set up in Jan 2018 to intercept food "waste" and turn it into delicious, nutritious meals that we serve at our cafes in Harrogate & Knaresborough. We offered a friendly welcoming community and everything is served on a pay as you feel basis so that everyone can afford to go out for lunch. From Mar2020- Jul2021, our 3 cafes were closed and we delivered free food & non-food parcels to 15808 people across the district who are struggling to access food. Our cafes are open at St Wilfrid's Church Hall Wednesday 10-1.30, Killinghall Methodist Church Thursday 10-1.30 and Gracious Street Methodist Church Friday 10-1.30. We have launched a community grocery in Harrogate and one in Knaresborough, providing affordable food & non-food items to people on a low income. A 1-2 person family pays £5 for around £ 40 worth of food, a 3-4 person family can pay £10 for double the amount. Some of our customers may struggle to pay the cost of the shopping and so we are launching a Pay It Forward Scheme. If you would like to donate £5 or £10, it will cover the cost of someone's shopping who is having a tough week. Thank you so much for your support.

Surplus To Purpose (SToP) is an environmental enterprise which specialise in the interception of surplus food destined for waste. This produce may be past Best Before, suffered accidental damage or surplus to requirements. Trained personnel record, process and quality control all intercepted food, to ensure it is safe for consumption. This food is then redistributed through various activities such as; boxes for families, outside catering & events, Pay As You Feel cafes and into schools. SToP intercepts approximately 1,000 tons per year at its headquarters in Leeds - the equivalent of 2.3 million meals per year. A majority of the produce we intercept is perishable items such as fruit & vegetables, and bakery goods. However, we also intercept frozen meat & fish, chilled dairy items and non perishable items such as dry goods, drinks and confectionary. In 2022 SToP aims to become the U.K.s largest caterer of events using intercepted produce. From weddings, to conferences, birthdays and work lunches, we wish to provide environmental alternatives to mainstream providers of contract catering. Our mission is to Feed Bellies Not Bins, whilst educating people on the inhumane amounts of edible food wasted every year in the U.K. All of our spaces are inclusive, and all the food we intercept is available to all. We are a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation, founded in 2005. We rent a venue in the Wingate Methodist church in Armley, Leeds. Our objective is to improve the well-being of our members including families from different nationalities who speak Russian. However, everybody in the local community is welcome to join us. We organise social, cultural, and educational activities for families with young children on low income, families who feel isolated and are not integrated into society due to different reasons. We are a small group that are run by volunteers; there is no paid workers working for us. The cost of living crisis is affecting all of us. As part of our activities, we run different projects throughout the year that teach our members how to budget on small incomes, how to cook nutritious food with ingredients that are easily available. Sometimes members bring some ingredients from home that they cook and eat together. However, we believe families would benefit a lot if we receive some food donations from some local supermarkets.
