How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

The Redeemed Christian Church Of God Living Faith Sunderland

Sunderland, UK

Our project operates from the RCCG Living Faith Sunderland church premises, located at North Bridge Street, Sunderland. SR5 1AB. Our facilities are equipped to support a variety of community services and activities, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all who visit. We distribute from the charity building every Sunday and every other days. We identify service users and their needs by community outreach, direct engagement, and feedback from our congregation and local partners. This includes conducting surveys, holding community meetings, and maintaining open lines of communication with those we serve. Our dedicated team of volunteers and church members actively listen to the needs of our community, ensuring that our services are tailored to meet these needs effectively. In addition to food support, RCCG Living Faith Sunderland offers a range of services. All the services provided by our organization, including food support, are offered free of charge.

Houghton le Spring, UK

Based in Houghton le springs, we are temporarily working ftom 15 St Michaels We are a community based organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable persons in the community such as asylum seekers, residents of the YMCA and working with the YMCA by collecting surplus and food donations from location shops such as Lidl and others. We d nit charge anyone for our services as all our funding and expenses comes ftom pocket. We organise fun days and team bonding and building activities too. Being aware of the challenges of societal lives, we hope to bring a little relief and succour to our community. We have gotten any press coverages just yet. As we are growing our brand and services hence we require an operational vehicle and office space to operate from. We are building some synergy and working relationships with other local groups but that is at the teething phase.

Bethany City Church Foodbank

Sunderland, UK

All of our efforts are entirely supported by donations, we do not receive any funding. Throughout the week we are asked by various organisations to provide food parcels (3 days supply) to people who are in crisis. In the last year, we distributed in the region of 1600 days worth of food – giving about 5000 meals. We also run an event on Thursday evenings called Globe Café, which is attended by about 60 refugees and asylum seekers. During this event they are given a free meal. On Friday lunch times, the Soul Lunch takes place where again between 40 and 50 people are fed. These are either homeless or are simply people who are struggling to make ends meet”
