How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Affordable Food Stoke

Stoke-on-Trent, UK

We don't believe that good food should be sent to landfill. It is our goal to reduce food waste and to provide the local community with the means to feed their families without the need for foodbanks and charitable handouts. We work with suppliers and distribution centers to buy their surplus stock, stock that has damaged packaging and stock past its best before date in order to be able to sell it cheaply to local families. We believe that no-one should be forced to beg for food and be reliant on hand-outs and through our shop people can feed their families, increasing self-worth and self-esteem.

Headway North Staffordshire

Stoke-on-Trent, UK

Headway North Staffordshire offers rehabilitation and respite facilities for people with brain injury. We help people with acquired, traumatic, and stroke related brain injury. We also support families and carers through difficult times. Throughout the week, over 100 clients access our services. Headway is a vibrant meeting place with facilities for improving mobility, domestic , educational and social skills. Our gym and physiotherapy services encourage healthy life styles and promote good mental health. We wish to update our computer suite and add more machines and equipment. This will be brilliant, because more of our clients will be able to use the computers at the same time. We will incorporate adaptive technology so people of all abilities have the same opportunity to become IT literate. After all, being IT literate is a real necessity in this digital age. Thank you for your support - together, we will make these plans a reality!
