How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Pennine Mencap

Oldham, UK

Pennine Mencap assists adults with learning disabilities and Autism throughout Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale. We provide a number of structured activities and events with the aim of teaching our service users new skills and creating opportunities for meaningful occupation, as well as social well-being. Established in 2012, we have come a long way from our beginnings in a small, windowless storage room with plenty of potential and not a lot of resources. It was only through listening to the feedback of our service users that we were able to develop as a charity in the facilities and opportunities we provide.

The Chatterbox Project

Manchester, UK

Chatterbox offers a programme of activities and services designed to bring people together, provide practical help and support, and raise the confidence and aspirations of people living in poverty. From our base in the heart of north Manchester, we run a weekly food bank, offer peer support, adult education, recreational classes, children's clubs and more. We are run by a small but dedicated team of local people who understand the needs of the community, and believe that every person deserves happiness and success, whatever their circumstances. To this end, we offer a programme of courses and volunteering opportunities designed to show people what they can achieve and raise their self-worth. We rely heavily on donations from generous people in the community. Every donation is used to support a person or family in need. At present, we have over 120 families registered with our food bank, and we do everything in our power to ensure every individual leaves Chatterbox not only with food, but with a sense that they have been treated with dignity, and given a chance to speak with people who truly respect and understand them. Chatterbox is a community charity in the purest sense. We do not judge, and would never turn away a person in need. We are here for you.
