How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Shrewsbury Food Hub

Shrewsbury, UK

Our vision is a community where food is valued, not wasted. Our mission is to redistribute food and promote food waste reduction for environmental and social good. Since April 2016, we have collected good surplus food from supermarkets, manufacturers and farms and shared it with local charities and community groups, saving them money so they can do more. Our community partners support the homeless, the old, the vulnerable and those on low incomes. We also support community Foodshare Tables and Fridges where everyone is welcome to collect a few bags of food to help stop food waste and stretch household budgets. Any donation you can make will enable us to train new volunteers, pay for fuel for our charity van, buy in additional surplus from FareShare to supplement the food we collect to nourish our community. Please contact Tammy at tammy@shrewsburyfoodhub.org.uk if you would like more information or would like to get involved. The Food Hub is a registered charity 1171092.

Barnabas foodbank PLUS

Shrewsbury, UK

Foodbank PLUS is the umbrella for the delivery of a range of individual initiatives; Shrewsbury Foodbank, Barnabas Money Advice, 360, Acts 435, Breathe and Foundations, which incorporates a range of services supporting clients on the journey back to work and health. Historically food banks have been seen as a short term fix but with these initiatives working together it means we can help people to become more resilient for the longer term. We aim to help people out of crisis and poverty whether that’s resources, relational or identity and empower clients to enable them to make confident decisions and responses to future challenges they may face. Shrewsbury Food Bank organises and gives parcels of donated food and household items to individuals and families every week.
