At Work For Smile UK, we’re raising funds and collecting food, clothing, and other donations to help those who need it most. Included in our causes we have a Food Distribution Project, Refugee Donations Project, Book Distribution Project to name a few. All to help provide aid for people struggling, especially following the COVID crisis and the rising cost of living crisis. Moss Side & Hulme Training and Community Enterprise CIC (MSHTCE) is a voluntary and registered community interest company based at the Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse, a well-known community hub in Manchester. From this accessible location, we deliver our services to residents of Moss Side, Hulme, Rusholme and neighbouring communities. Operating from this central community space allows residents to easily access our programmes, advice services and activities. We support a wide range of local residents to reduce inequalities, including: • Low-income families • Older people • Young people and adults not currently in education, employment or training (NEET) • Individuals experiencing financial hardship or social isolation • Immigrants and refugees needing support with integration Our support includes CV building, employability skills, digital skills training, Free Laptop repairs, and health and wellbeing activities. Many of the people we support reach us through word of mouth, referrals from local partners, housing associations, libraries, and community outreach activities. We also engage directly with residents’ groups and local organisations. Being embedded in the community allows us to quickly identify local needs and respond effectively. We would welcome support from Neighbourly through: • Food surplus redistribution – to help support families experiencing food insecurity through community distribution and support sessions. • Volunteering opportunities – to strengthen our capacity to run training sessions, community programmes and events. • Community grants – to help expand our programmes and reach more residents who need support. Our services are primarily free of charge to ensure they remain accessible to the most vulnerable members of our community. In recognition of our work supporting education and digital skills in the community, our organisation was invited to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in May 2025. Humans MCR are Manchester's food bank on wheels. We provide nutritionally balanced, culturally appropriate food parcels for the residents of Manchester, Salford and Bury. Once a client is referred into us, we then deliver the food parcel to their doorstep. We operate every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
