How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, HEINEKEN UK has donated money and volunteer time, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Friends of Sandringham Park

Wetherby, UK

We bring community together by holding events and we enhance the park and local area in many ways. For example , we plant trees and shrubs, bulbs and seed areas. We look after our wildlife and sow and plant for Bees and other insects. We look after the echo system and litter pick. We work with local young people to reduce any anti social behaviour that happens.

Canal & River Trust - West Midlands Region

Ellesmere Port, UK

As a charity which cares for more than 2000 miles of waterways across England and Wales, we are keen to work with local businesses to create sustained and ongoing partnerships and develop and deliver projects that transform places and enrich lives. Our projects include - Plastics removal- 80% of all plastics in our oceans don't start there they have travelled there through other water courses, ALL canals lead to rivers and all rivers lead to seas and all seas lead to oceans and beaches. Helping us to remove plastics in and along our canals stops those plastics travelling to other water courses. - Vegetation management- at the right time of year we manage the summer growth of low hanging branches that impede the communities use of their local towpath but we also remove saplings and other vegetation damaging our 250 year old infrastructure. This also makes the area more inviting for the local community to use their canal. By supporting our charity you not only support a local charity all over England & Wales but you give back to the community by helping to improve their local canal for them to use, and everything we do along the canal always has environmental improvements built in. If you want to work with us by either enjoying team engagement days with us or partnering with us to build a lasting legacy we can help you towards your social value goals. If you are interested in volunteering with us please email me direct Terry.Hodgetts@canalrivertrust.org.uk so i can give you more details, but then I can create an event on Neighbourly just for you.

York Carers Centre

York, UK

Carers provide regular, unpaid help to someone close to them due to addiction, frailty, physical or mental illness or disability. Many people do not recognise themselves as carers; they are parents, grandparents, children, partners, friends or neighbours doing what needs to be done to maintain the quality of life for someone close to them. There are an estimated 7-8 million carers in the UK. York Carers Centre offers free support to carers. We can answer questions about substance misuse, mental health, benefits, community care, housing, employment, education and training and carers’ rights. Our staff can give advice and guidance over the phone or visit carers at home. We also have a free carers emergency card, regular newsletters, social activities, and offer additional support to young carers (5 to 18) and young adult carers (18 to 25). Once a carer contacts the service, often in crisis, a meeting is offered, followed by an assessment of the carer's needs and help creating a plan of action. On-going 1-1 face to face/telephone support and specific group sessions are available. The program of work includes support for: Crisis Intervention Knowledge and Information Signposting Peer Support Health and Wellbeing This is provided through: Support groups incl. peer and staff support. Guest speakers from a variety of services are invited to talk to carers at our groups and events. Health and Wellbeing sessions include a variety of options to help carers have a break from their caring role, these include: Peer Support and Pampering, Day Trips, Mindfulness, Yoga, Nutrition, Creative Writing, Arts & Crafts, Family History Carers group and general social Drop In's - this list is not exhaustive. With the increasing demand for support from carers affected by substance misuse and gambling, we would like to extend this service and enhance it's current program by increasing resources, including staff to help carers manage their lives better.
