How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Fighting Hunger with Food Waste

Trowbridge, UK

We are a large volunteer based Charity operating across the Wiltshire area. Our volunteers use donated food to share with local families, individuals and organisations who are most in need. We are currently under pressure to meet the increasing need to help people who cannot afford food, whilst also experiencing a big decrease in the amount of food we receive due to less available food and many more people buying food from the reduced price sections. If you are a business with surplus food, would like to make a donation, volunteer or are in need of some food, please contact us.

Don't Go Hungry (Foundation Christian Fellowship Warminster)

Warminster, UK

Food boxes to be distributed to those in need in our community, absolutely free of charge. We collect the food from the Store and take it direct to the houses. I also visit Cornerstone, a Charity in Warminster when some clients in need of food are waiting. Our Clients are identified by word of mouth or from Cornerstone's Volunteers. Food support is the only help we give. Sometimes at Christmas,, we get involved with Toy distribution to our Clients and in our Church Baby group. There is no charge for our services. We also collect from Tesco's Express on a Saturday, using Fareshare. We do use local press or Social media to advertise as we are a small organization with one person collecting and distributing food, our client list is full enough. Photographs and reference from Local Charity to follow.

Westbury Community Fridge

Westbury, UK

Westbury operates its Community Fridge through Westbury Area Network which is entirely run by volunteers, and to help we would like for registered food businesses and retailers in the local area to help by donating fresh food within its use by date to the Community Fridge for people to take for free. This has been a real benefit to the people in the town and the surrounding villages.
