Devon and Cornwall Food Action is a Registered Charity, striving to eradicate food poverty in Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall. The Charity is run entirely by a brilliant volunteer workforce and the Charity has been providing food provision to families in Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall for the past 10 years struggling financially and many that are in financial poverty. During this last year, we have seen a significant rise in the number of clients that are in urgent need of our service, sadly as a result of Covid 19 Pandemic. Our aim as a Charity is to redistribute surplus food and non-food products which are collected and delivered by donors across Devon and Cornwall. The Charity has identified a number of services, community organisations and groups, and through their various means-testing schemes the products are distributed to those that have been identified as being in desperate need to feed themselves and their families. We also work closely with professionals and accept referrals from statutory agencies and our historical service provision. Our Challenges are obtaining grants for our services to enable us to help those in desperate need and financial difficulties and unable to purchase food. Join our cause and do what you can to reduce food waste. And remember, spare food is shared food!

Devonport Help A Neighbour is a food club providing the people pf Devonport with access to low-cost, good quality food. We charge an annual membership of £2, which gives access to our Community Larder where you can purchase 5 items for £1 and the fruit & veggies are free! We are partnered with FareShare South West who are dedicated to eradicating food waste and ensuring that those in need receive the help they deserve. We also run a charity shop offering clothes and household items at very low prices.

Our vision is a community where no person has to die alone, in pain or distress. We need to raise more than £4 million a year to continue to run our services. This would not be possible if it wasn’t for you, our supporters. We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone in our community is educated and informed when it comes to end of life care. Our education team engage with the local community in an effort to train and empower individuals and organisations to work in partnership to provide excellent care in all environments and across all services. There are lots of ways that you can support us, from taking part in an event to raising money at work or making a monthly donation. Whatever you choose to do, you’ll be helping us to ensure everyone in our community receives the best care and support at the end of their life.
