How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

The aim of Portishead Community Fridge and Food Network is to prevent food going to waste by sharing it within our community. We have recently agreed land for a permanent site for a Fridge, freezer and larder and whilst waiting for planning permisssion to be granted are running pop up surplus tables around the town. These allow us to explain our purpose and encourage local residents to work with us to reduce food waste.

Portishead Youth & Community Centre

Bristol, UK

Portishead Youth & Community Centre is passionate about making a difference. We are a community centre by day, and a youth centre by night with something for everyone in our community. We have been running activities and provision for children, young people and families since 1966 and have a long well-established reputation for being a professional service as the largest community space in our town. We are accessible and open to all; however, we have a particular focus on providing for those who would not ordinarily be able to access such opportunities, due to finances or those who need additional support to engage with provision. Portishead Youth & Community Centre is a safe and welcoming place where people can meet, socialise, flourish and grow, or just relax and have fun. Our Centre is inclusive and empowering, supporting our community with a specific focus on activities and services for children and young people, however we are proud to provide something for everyone of all ages. From new-born babies to senior citizens and everyone in between, our aim is to make a difference to all.
