Looprun is a response division and part of an independent social enterprise called Glass Mill Social Enterprise C.I.C. This is more than food and is part of a platform called RSBA1 (Response, Sustain, Build, Achieve). A free supportive services platform to help people get back on their feet. With up to 94% success rate and seeing once those receiving free Looprun response bags to returning to stores as shoppers with baskets full. These are the happy stories created when all come together to do good for good. Service users are signposted to Looprun mostly from referrals including professionals in social and healthcare. Looprun provides free non perishables, perishable food, toiletries, and clothing to people facing a challenge. Whatever you can do is turned into a grateful donation to a neighbour in need. As everything given and everybody counts. No food is banked providing a direct in and out service. We believe if the food is stored then a person in need is not getting any food, hence we provide an instant response and instant impact service. Looprun food donations can include fresh fruit, vegetables, bakery items and non perishables. Looprun has access to professional volunteers who carry out a confidential support service to people in need. From homeless shelters, hostels, sheltered housing, care homes and schools. This is a non voucher, free and confidential service. This means Looprun can reach more people in need with your food donations. Therefore we need your help to ensure we can supply the demand in this crisis. Anyone that receives a Looprun bag of essential food items is sustained thus creating a loop cycle. We, therefore, are a platform for a voice to be heard in the community and share life changing stories. It would be great to have more partners become part of these stories in your local community. We are a community fridge that takes surplus food from local businesses and suppliers, using trained volunteers, and make it available in a public place to anyone who wants it. Our current home is in the library in the Keynsham Civic Centre on Market Walk. The main purpose of the community fridge is to reduce food waste. Food waste is a big issue in the UK. Around 10 million tonnes of food waste is produced in the UK every year, of this an estimated 60% could be avoided. Food waste also produces greenhouse gases when it decomposes  and is a net contributor to global warming.  On average, over the last 4 years, we have kept 1.5 tonnes of food waste per month out of landfill. The food, mostly fresh food, although we do also receive some ambient food, is available for free to anyone who wants it, with no eligibility requirements. In taking food people are asked to consider others, we get approximately 50 people per day using our service, and take only one small bag of food per person, per day. Our service helps to address food poverty as well as raise awareness about waste, food security and living in a sustainable manner. We are a not for profit company limited by guarantee. We aim to reduce the amount of food thrown away by shops. We collect surplus food from shops and deliver the food to local projects. There are a lot of organisations in Bristol, run mainly by volunteers, who offer meal and food bank services. We pick up at pre-arranged times and deliver the items to projects who have requested the supply of surplus food. After we deliver the surplus food items, volunteers at the local projects prepare and serve them to people who are going through or recovering from issues such as hunger, homelessness, social isolation, drug or alcohol abuse, and mental health conditions.
