How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Cotswolds Surplus Food

Bath, UK

Cotswolds Surplus Food is here to offer free food to people in the local community of Twerton, Whiteway and Southdown. Established in 2022, the free food pantry (located just off The Hollow) has grown reflecting the needs of the area. Surplus food is now donated from an increasing number of stores including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Pret, Lidl, Gail’s, and Marks and Spencer’s, several times per week. The surplus food is distributed without any charge to as many people as possible, without judgement. We aim to distribute fairly among the local community, including individuals, families and other community groups such as the local church. With my food training and handling (level 2 food hygeine and food standard rating 5) all food is distributed safely, promptly and in date. If you think we can help you please follow us on Facebook or instagram. These pages show the work we do, show where surplus is distributed and shares a range of other supermarket food offers which are available (eg the supermarket 8p veg wars and half term eating out deals etc). There is an additional private Facebook group for those wanting regular food collections, to access this group put “neighbourly” in the referral box when prompted. Note: we are a non-profit community group with a constitution (Unincorporated Association). Constitution available upon request. Please feel welcome to get in touch.
