How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Arden House

Leven, UK

Established in 1969, Arden House is a key resource for the Levenmouth community, providing day care services to the frail elderly, thereby helping them to maintain independent living for as long as possible. Our aim is to lessen social isolation of elderly, frail and dementia service users. We provide day care six days a week and 52 weeks a year, closing only for two days in each of the Christmas and New Year weeks. Arden House provides transport to and from day care with escorts to help service users into centres. Levenmouth is an area of high social deprivation and many elderly residents don't have family or relatives close by to offer support. Staff at Arden House support service users in various ways, including arranging hospital and GP appointments to ensure they are getting the best package of care for their needs and requirements. A specialist programme of activities is designed around each individual's needs. We also work in conjunction with other agencies to maintain service users' mental health and wellbeing.

Buckhaven Baptist Church

Leven, UK

The church’s purposes (“the purposes”) are the advancement of the christian faith primarily in Buckhaven. Our project The Safe Haven Community Cafe and Food Distribution operate from the church premises - we have two large halls we use. We identify service users as those recovering but also still coping with drug and alcohol abuse; single parent and full families etc. and homeless persons. We also provide washing facilities, shower, washing machine etc. There is no charge for any of our services. We offer hot meals twice weekly over and above tea/coffee rolls, cake etc. We are supplied weekly by Fareshare mainly for the Food Distribution. Photographs could be available with the consent of the users. I am part of a Community Cafe Network which covers all Community Cafes in our area. A reference could be available from Mrs Cassie Marshall who co-ordinates the Network and works with the Trussell Trust Levenmouth Foodbank. Our social media link is on the Church Facebook page and we are in the process of setting up a designated page for the Cafe and Food Distribution,
