Forward Project
Blackpool, UK
Our charity plays a crucial role in community outreach, addressing widespread issues such as loneliness, debt, and poverty within the area. We provide a safe and welcoming environment where individuals can connect, enjoy fellowship, and access much-needed support. Our primary objectives include supporting families, helping individuals struggling to meet basic needs, and providing education, empowerment, and personalised support to uplift the community.
Our Forward Project, a significant initiative, was launched to work closely with the community on several pressing issues. These include tackling loneliness, poor health outcomes, unhealthy diets, digital and racial exclusion, and the rising prevalence of mental health conditions. At the heart of our ethos is a commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background, sexuality, disability, or religious belief. To further enhance accessibility and utility, we have recently transformed our church into a vibrant community hub. This space not only serves as a sanctuary but also as a dynamic centre for learning, social interaction, and support services. By fostering a sense of belonging and community, we aim to create a more connected, resilient, and empowered populace.

1. Premises: 125A Church Street Blackpool, FY1 1HZ
2. We identify service users from the congregation who have needs. Mostly from the BAME background and assylum seekers. However, we support people from all backgrounds and their is need. We are planning to open a soup kitchen before winter starts.
3. We are a church, so we offer teaching of the Bible and youth and children programmes to support our youths/teenagers to use their time and energy into useful and positive ventures.
4. We do not charge for our services. In fact we also support people with money, not just food.
5. We collect surplus from Aldi and Tesco
6. No local press. May be we should organise to show the work we do.
7. We need to get permission from the people we support if they are happy for their photographs to be shared.
8. We got in touch with Salvation Army for partnership but we haven't got any reply from them yet. We are not sure how to get the Council involved in what we do, however we are looking for how we can get in touch with them.
