How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Digmoor Foodbank -Evermoor Enterprises

Skelmersdale, UK

We are an independent foodbank that covers the whole of West Lancashire providing food, cleaning products and clothes to disadvantaged families in the community. We operate a referral-based foodbank serving West Lancashire's most vulnerable residents. Our team collects donated food and essential items which we package into multi-day parcels, providing families with enough supplies to sustain them through difficult periods. We would like donations to support these families at their time of need. Leading up to Christmas we also make up food hampers and children's presents to give out to local agencies or families that would not be able to have Christmas without our support. Any donations are gratefully received and will be put to good use.

Everyone is welcome to the Open Table cafe, we offer a free warm meal and great company every Wednesday and Friday 12.30 to 1.30pm During lock down we have still been collecting the Surplus food and we now run a Open table food bank which has been giving the food to those who need it the most in our community. We provide the meals for free through local businesses who have surplus food stocks but if you wish to donate towards the running costs then we will gratefully accept it. We want to create a community atmosphere with good food and great company.

Fur Clemt

Wigan, UK

We are a community project in Wigan dedicated to reducing the amount of edible wasted food reaching landfill. We intercept surplus edible waste food and make it available to our community through our cafes and outlets. In addition we provide cooking classes and educational programs and work with schools and local organisations to educate people about food waste reduction. Although we often support people who need extra help, we are open to everyone. All support is beneficial, including financial help, as well as any food that we can use. 😄
