🥦🍞 Community Pantry – Supporting Local Families & Reducing Waste 🍞🥦 Our Community Pantry is here to make a difference. By collecting surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, we’re able to offer affordable access to a wide range of groceries while helping the environment at the same time. Every visit helps reduce food waste and supports families across our community. Together, we can save good food, protect the planet, and support one another. 🌍❤️

The Community Hub and Food Bank has approximately 25to 45 service users each week and also do emergencies for people who are suffering with food poverty due to the cost of living crisis. Our volunteers try to supply a good balanced diet with donations of foods from food donation partnerships and the general public. Food poverty can have a detrimental effect on mental health and health in general, sometimes a cup of tea and a biscuit together with a warm friendly environment is the beginning of finding out the problems that our service users are experiencing, we then can sign post to the relevant agencies. Our volunteers work tirelessly to help those in need including the homeless in our area, many successful outcomes have come about because we listen and help.

At Goole Academy, our mission is to ‘Change Lives’ and give every child in our care the grounding both academically and experientially to thrive in life. Students are in our care from before the school day starts, and we believe that this is when they should be supported with access to resources that can benefit their health and academic ability – breakfast. We are looking for product donations/grants so that Goole can provide free breakfast provisions for around 150 of our 1000 pupils each morning, improving our young scholars’ mental and physical health ultimately boosting their academic success. The types of products that would be most beneficial include: • Cereals • Cereal Bars • Juice • Milk • Bread • Fruits With the possibility of: • Pastries • Pancakes • Crumpets • Spreads/Jams Our breakfast club runs from 8:00 until 8:20 in the canteen area, where all students have access before first period. It is a place where they can socialise and detox their minds before a hard days work. We really believe that a free-to-eat breakfast club has a positive impact on our students and so we have made it a goal to keep it running sustainably. With donations of food/monetary products, you can help make an impact to the lives of the students in our care and greatly influence their time throughout secondary school.
