Working with partner agencies, Salvation Army, Housing Matters, Social Services and Debt Counselling we support people in an emergency. Now more than ever, in the current economic climate, there is a real need to provide Food Parcels to help people in difficulty in the Isle of Man – people who need a helping hand and support to get through a difficult time. Isle of Man Foodbank prepares food parcels for families and individuals who are referred to us when they are in crisis. Then, to help the person or family to get beyond the crisis, we point them to relevant support organisations such as Debt Management, Life Skills, Careers and Budgeting. This is a very real and urgent need within our community and we need your help which could come in a number of different ways. We're always glad to receive donations, whether in the form of items for the food parcels, or a money donation. You might like to volunteer as one of our wonderful drivers or on the contact phone. We also need people who can volunteer at special events.

We promote, provide and advocate opportunities for all children on the Island to fulfil their ‘Right to Play’.

Rebecca House is a children’s wing in the Hospice, Isle of Man. It is a purpose-built facility that opened in November 2007 and it provides respite, palliative and end of life care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions from birth to 18 years. Rebecca House offers a safe haven and a home from home environment in which physical, emotional, recreational and spiritual care is offered and implemented in a way appropriate to the child and their family. Rebecca House offers the highest possible standards of care and support to each child and their families to enable them to cope with their illness and lead as full and normal life as possible. The aim of the Rebecca House team is to provide holistic care to families, encompassing play, massage and relaxation, pet therapy, music therapy and use of the multi-sensory room. Care is offered in a flexible and accommodating manner and in doing so, Rebecca House provides opportunities for families to have a rest and enjoy quality time with other family members and siblings. The team at Rebecca House is currently made up of five Registered Nurses and six Nursery Nurses. Rebecca House has a warm and friendly atmosphere where children are able to relax and have fun. The staff enjoys the reward of being able to make a difference to the children’s lives and seeing a child regain their confidence and in some cases their health. Rebecca House currently provides care seven days a week between the hours of 8am and 8pm and overnight care five nights per week. Rebecca House has a wide variety of specialist in-patient facilities including four fully furnished en-suite bedrooms, a separate adapted bathroom and wet room, a children’s multi-function room, a fully-fitted kitchen and the Dream Room offering a full multi-sensory experience.
