I am reusable have our very own community food bank here in York. We have been going for over 2 plus years now and started up due to covid due to the demand. We feed over a 100 plus people a day 7 days a week. But also trying to combat food waste by reusing food in the community.

Woking, UK
Woking Foodbank is a local project, using volunteers, who collect, sort, store and distribute food donated from within the community. Our Foodbank provides three days worth of emergency food to local people in crisis. Visitors to our Foodbank are referred via local frontline agencies and charities such as Woking Borough Council and such charities as the York Road Project and YMCA Woking. There are many people in the Woking area who are living in poverty, despite popular misconception. Woking Foodbank is here to help people or families in need by providing emergency supplies of food to stop hunger. Our support is not a means to an end, but it can bring relief to members of our community who are in a crisis and cannot afford to eat. In a time of crisis, the food we offer along with a feeling that they are understood and that local people want to help them makes a real difference to our Foodbank visitors.

Since 2015 M&S has been putting surplus food to the best possible use in our local communities. Our stores are connected with more than 2,000 local charities and groups where our surplus is transformed into meals, ensuring nothing goes to waste. Since the start of our partnership, M&S has provided over 130 million meals.
During Christmas 2022, M&S teamed up with Neighbourly to donate £1 million across 1,000 charities and community groups across England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales through the Neighbourly Foundation (charity 1189514). Through the campaign, the gifts M&S customers gave went towards supporting community causes and families in their area, each with their own inspiring and unique story. Together with Neighbourly, M&S shortlisted a selection of amazing causes to not only support, but also to help raise awareness of the important work they do. To celebrate, M&S brought together a number of these hardworking charities and community groups to feature in their Christmas TV advert, which has been shot by The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey.

Between 2017 and 2025, we will support M&S colleagues worldwide to contribute one million hours of work-time community volunteering where it really matters.

Mrs Claus wants everyone to have a great Christmas. She's making a donation to 76 of the local charities that M&S stores support all year round, so they can have something on their wish list too.
Spark Something Good is our way of creating change in the communities that we live and work in. We've sparked good in nine cities across the UK and Ireland, transforming 24 community projects in each one with the help of our customers and employees.
At M&S we want to do more to help our local partner charities this Christmas. Customers at 70 of our stores will be able to donate food and household goods to a collection box in-store during December, up until Christmas Eve.
