We fund raise to support 1000 premature and sick babies per year that are cared for on the Oliver Fisher Neonatal Unit at Medway Maritime Hospital. The Oliver Fisher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Medway Maritime Hospital in Kent started as a Special Care Baby Unit. The first significant steps towards special care were two incubators. Dr Oliver Fisher positioned these in the corner of the adult ward, in the maternity wing in All Saints Hospital. At that time, there were no special care facilities for premature or sick babies. One of Dr Fisher's major research interests was the care of the new born child. This led to the establishment of the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit at All Saints Hospital. In 1983 the new unit was finally built in the grounds of All Saints Hospital. It took Dr Fisher 27 years to fulfill his dreams of a Special Care Baby Unit. In 1985 he became the president of the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust until his death in 1997. In 1999 the Unit moved to Medway Maritime Hospital and became the Oliver Fisher Neonatal Unit. The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust is very proud to be supporting the Neonatal Unit to this day. Our work has funded essential equipment such as ventilators, incubators, blood gas machines and ultrasound machines. We provide travel expenses to help parents visit their babies on a daily basis, and support the unit in many other ways. Thank you for your help!

Alzheimer's society staff and volunteers provide services to people affected by dementia, including day care and home care, support and befriending services across england, wales, guernsey, isle of man and northern ireland. we provide information and training, and every year we invest in research. we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and those who care for them.
