The charity's objective is to advance the christian religion. We seek to support everyone in need and the people in our community Govan in Glasgow. Govan is one of the poorest areas in Glasgow. Many resident are unemployed or have health challenges. We aim to support these people to enable them meet their daily needs and life goals . We operate from 9 Skipness Drive Govan Glasgow, from 10am to 1pm every Sunday We are a registered charity S041558 Aside from providing food to support residents of the community we provide musical skill acquisition training and programmes and also provide spiritual support to families in the community. Photos and videos of our community work is shown below We identify users either through referral or interview when they come in services are provided as required by the individual All services are offered free. We get donations from other church and members which we use and pending on the work we do at the moment and we will like to get supplies directly as our sister churches donate to us when they have leftovers and if they don’t have that means we don’t get anything or supplies to help the people . - Education/training - Children/young people - Provides services Based in Peckham, South East London, we are an after-school music training hub. Salem was established in 2004 to make instrument music training accessible and affordable to young people (YP), especially but not exclusively, to those from disadvantaged, underprivileged, and underrepresented. We also provide a haven for YP to interact, socialise, discuss different social topics, and have a healthy meal. We give planned mental health training with professional practitioners. Classical, Jazz, and Praise music are purposely chosen as our repertoire, as they are particularly effective in lowering stress and anxiety levels in YP. As YP play and listen to these genres of music over the years, it helps them become more focussed and therefore more productive. Through our regular ABRSM exams, we help our learners build points towards entrance into grammar and boarding schools. Our intermediate and higher grades exams help build UCAS points towards university placements. Over 97% of our learners end up going to university. Some of our past learners have played with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Chineke Orchestra. Some have studied music at universities and now have full-time careers in music. We start our trainees from as young as seven years old and many stay with us until they leave for university. Some return after university to either help out voluntarily, or continue their own personal development. We collect surplus food donations from various outlets. Some are cooked on-site and given as meals to our pupils/learners, parents, teachers, volunteers, and the local community. Others are taken home by the same groups of people. Volunteers do all our food collections, cooking, feeding, and distribution. We do not charge for food consumed on the premises or taken away. No foods are resold.

From July 2020, a team of volunteers from St Andrews RC Bearsden uplifts surplus 7 days a week and delivers to ST Gregorys Wyndford food bank and Aspire which helps people get back on their feet. Historical info below. 1051GWR is a b/restaurant which ceased trading like all others on the 22nd of March 2020. On the 23rd we opened up as a takeaway. Our first customers were NHS staff from Gartnavel hospital whose canteens had been shut down. We could not charge them so gave them free soup and pizza and pasta. In addition to the 500meals given away daily to frontline workers we supply a further 500 to the elderly vulnerable and homeless. We now know every day where and when we are going to be delivering food so becoming a member of Neighbourly at this point seems appropriate and useful. We use volunteers from St Andrew's RC Bearsden who normally visit homeless shelters. Since March 2020 we have been delivering hot and cold food to 6/7 homeless/ vulnerable organisations. As at July 2020, we deliver supermarket surplus to the Wayside Club Glasgow city centre where homeless people can pick up food and St Gregorys food bank giving free food to needy families and individuals.
