At Dream Earth Project, our mission is to create a sustainable and equitable food system that prioritizes the reduction of food waste and the redistribution of surplus food to those in need. We strive to reduce the environmental impact of food waste by implementing composting and other sustainable solutions that return nutrients to the earth and promote healthy soil. Through community engagement and education, we aim to empower individuals to take action towards reducing food waste and building a more sustainable future. We recognize the interconnectedness of environmental and social issues and seek to promote holistic solutions that improve both the health of our planet and the wellbeing of our communities. At Dream Earth Project, we believe that every individual has a role to play in creating a more sustainable future, and we are committed to working together towards that vision. The Dream Earth Project (DEP) focuses on sustainable solutions for food surplus generated by local businesses in North and Northwest London and surrounding areas. The project has both environmental and social aspects, with the aim of preventing food waste and channeling food surplus to communities in need. DEP also aims to educate the wider public, including schools and businesses, about the issue of food waste. In addition to supporting communities, DEP aims to develop processes that help local authorities and supermarkets divert food waste from landfills to more environmentally friendly methods such as composting and producing substrates to grow mushrooms. The project intends to research and utilize alternative food waste solutions and create training materials for individuals and businesses to implement on a larger scale. DEP also plans to create a community garden in the future to teach people of all ages about the world of plants and how gardening can benefit mental wellbeing and strengthen people's commitment to the environmental cause. Currently, DEP provides food for a stall in Stanmore and a warehouse in Watford Wolsey Business Park, free open to everyone. The project also delivers food to those with limited means of transport and mobility problems. With the help of 60 dedicated volunteers DEP works directly with communities to support local schools, foodbanks, churches, mosques, and other causes. Sawa Initiatives is a community-focused charitable organisation dedicated to empowering civil society, strengthening social cohesion, and addressing key social challenges, with a particular focus on tackling food insecurity and poverty. Based in Brent, our activities primarily cover the Brent borough, as well as parts of Harrow and Barnet. We work to bring communities together through inclusive engagement, volunteering, and community-led support. At the heart of our work is the provision of free food support to low-income and vulnerable individuals and families. We redistribute surplus food and deliver essential food assistance directly to those in need through our mobile delivery service, ensuring access for individuals who may face financial, physical, or social barriers. Beneficiaries are identified through local networks, referrals from community activists, and careful assessment to ensure support reaches those most in need. Food donations are collected and redistributed directly to vulnerable individuals and families, and all support is provided completely free of charge as part of our commitment to reducing food insecurity. While we are not yet collecting surplus food from retailers on a regular basis, we do occasionally receive surplus food from local groups, which we distribute promptly to those in need. As a newly established organisation, we are in the early stages of building partnerships. We have initiated communication with local groups, charities, and organisations for collaboration and are currently awaiting responses. We are also actively seeking to develop relationships with retailers and other partners to strengthen and expand our food redistribution efforts. We are seeking access to surplus food and grant support, which will enable us to scale up our services, sustain our mobile delivery operations, and reach a greater number of vulnerable individuals and families in our community. At present, we have not yet received local press coverage due to being newly established; however, we aim to build our presence and engage with local media as our activities grow. We have documented some of our work through photos shared on our social media platforms and plan to expand this as our operations develop. All our services are provided free of charge, reflecting our commitment to dignity, equality, and inclusion. Alongside food support, our work contributes to improving health and wellbeing, reducing social isolation, and supporting sustainable community development. Through all of its activities, Sawa Initiatives remains committed to relieving poverty, reducing hunger, and creating stronger, more connected communities, while advancing broader charitable purposes in line with the laws of England and Wales.

My Yard reduces food waste by rescuing surplus food from various sources and donations from customers of partner retailers. These supplies are then shared with the most in need locally via community surplus food markets, at events on social housing estates and sheltered housing schemes. We also support organisations dealing with the most vulnerable and provide food where we can. Groups of young people have established and planted vegetables and learnt how to cook healthy meals through cooking lessons. Based on Grange Farm Estate, My Yard work with the local community providing workshops such as music, dance and yoga, assist residents with monthly events such as a jam night of performances and a meal. Working with families and young people aged 16 - 25 who are vulnerable in Harrow, My Yard also runs a gardening group for young people aged 16 - 18 and various holiday activities partnering with other local organisations and councils.
