Team Oasis offer a safe place to play, learn, be inspired, be encouraged, participate and achieve for local kids. Our sports, arts, and holiday opportunities are here for people of all abilities, backgrounds and circumstances to enjoy! Team Oasis was established in 2003 with the aim of offering inclusive opportunities for children and young people of all abilities and circumstances to engage together in a variety of activities and projects. We believe that promoting activities that engage children/youngsters in exciting, adventurous activities with others that might have a particular disability bears much universal fruit. Friendships blossom, mutual respect abounds and of course we like to think that we have a major impact on diverting young people away from the prevalent negative influences that can make it so difficult for young people these days. Our work serves groups experiencing social and economic disadvantage. We also support children, young people and adults with disability. Collectively our work certainly benefits communities of severe and multiple disadvantages. Our core objective over the years has included educating the masses regarding disability, thereby building awareness, understanding and removing barriers to children of all abilities growing together. Our community generally, but our young people particularly have an abundance of frighteningly easy avenues into crime. Drugs, alcohol and violence are real and distressing issues. Easy access to cash or drugs is often too great a sinister temptation for young people to refuse. On the other hand, we can confidently say that this most diverse and cultural community has the most immense potential if given the right opportunity. Team Oasis strives to give this community the opportunity to fully realise its potential. Team Oasis vigorously strives to open up and promote alternative positive pathways through dance, drama, singing, music, sports, holidays, youth groups and after school sessions. Our work is valuable, as epitomised by a recent statement from an eminent member of the former Merseyside Police Authority. When asked “If Team Oasis did not exist, then what would happen?” Norma Kielty-Crummey replied “So many young people would be left isolated and disenfranchised with some of the most vulnerable young people not being engaged with." Norma went on to say that Team Oasis deliver the biggest youth diversion project in an area of high deprivation, so without us there would be a likelihood of ASB and a totally unnecessary number of young people being criminalized and robbed of a decent future.

Here At RSPCA Liverpool, we look after and care for dogs and cats that have come into the centre via inspectors. Some of these animals have seen the worst that humanity can offer and it is our job to love and care for them and get them ready to start their new life's as part of a loving family.

We aim to make the D of E award accessible to all young people aged 14-25 living in Halton, particularly those from marginalised groups.
