Lamh Failte helping the homeless.

Dublin 1, Ireland

Lamh Failte helping the homeless, is a non-profit organisation founded and set up in Dublin in 2020. We help homeless people by providing a food and clothing stall on North Earl Street, here in Dublin City. We hand out hot homemade tasty dishes, cold dishes, hot fluids, clothing items, sleeping bags, toiletries, snacks, portions of fruit, and we also give out takeaway dishes, every Saturday evening. Our group is ran by volunteers and there are about 20 to 25 of us at any given time. All of our volunteers source and cook the donations in their own homes, then we meet up on North Earl Street every Saturday from 7.15 pm to around 9:30 pm. We rely heavily on donations from the public and local business. We are not a registered charity and cannot accept cash donations.

Tolka River Project

Dublin, Ireland

The Tolka River Project uses evidence based therapeutic models of care which aim to facilitate people in their recovery from substance misuse. Our main aims are to offer diverse employment and training opportunities to marginalised stabilised drug users through a supportive CE scheme. To provide a safe environment whereby participants can foster new life skills through group work, one to one work and recreational settings. To provide individual learning plans based within Tolka River Project’s holistic care plan approach. To provide a clear progression pathway the promotes a continuum of care model from start to completion and to use evidence based practices as standard. We also run a social club which is run by people in recovery for those in a recovery process. Anybody at any stage of the recovery continuum can attend and take part in the weekly social events. Activities range from week to week but include everything from quizzes to pool, table tennis, music, movies, etc… Events alter pending the seasonal changes also, so for example in the summer we will do several outdoor activities.

Inner City Helping Homeless

Dublin, Ireland

Inner City Helping Homeless Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) is a charity based in Dublin City Centre. Our group was formed in November 2013 as we sought to take action against the ever growing homeless crisis which is currently visible on the streets of Dublin today. We are group of friends, business people, local activists and community leaders who came together with the common goal of eliminating homelessness in our city. We initially began this journey by undertaking small food drives, distributing food and clothing parcels to homeless men and women through the city supporting them through difficult times. As you may be aware the statistics are startling, there are significant increases in the figures of people being forced into homelessness. In February 2014 we took the step of establishing ourselves as an official charity and secured long term premises to further aid our development. Our volunteer numbers have soared significantly as interest from the inner city and other local communities to tackle this ever present issue was apparent. The Service We Provide Inner City Helping Homeless provide a much needed service to homeless rough sleepers across Dublin City. Through our volunteers and group leaders we distribute essential basic needs such as food and clothing to those less fortunate. Our group set out on the streets from 11pm and cover both the north and south inner city meeting in excess of 100 rough sleepers each night. We have five groups and currently operate five nights a week to cover all weeknights. Many of the people we encounter on the streets are very grateful for the service we provide to them. We will continue to deliver to the best of our abilities until the ongoing homeless issue is tackled.
