We feed the homeless on a Wednesday night from 6.30pm at 24-26 Church Street Mansfield and give out food parcels consisting of breakfast items, tinned goods, items to add boiling water to such as noodles, soups, pasta etc. We provide much needed toiletries and sanitary products each week as well as offering access to clean clothes and shoes. We source camping items to make them a little more comfortable such as tents, sleeping bags, roll mats, tarpaulins, stoves and gas, cooking equipment, torches, lanterns etc. We can only do this with the continued support of the local businesses that already back us, but if other companies got involved we could do so much more.

We provide specialist hospice care to those living across North Derbyshire at the Hospice and in the community, and do everything we can to support them and their families adding quality to their lives when every day matters so much. We do this by providing access to facilities which offer support services that maintain and improve the practical, physical, and mental health of people living with a life limiting illness, at the end of life and their loved ones. The Hospice cares for over 2,500 each year with life limiting illness, their loved ones and pre and post bereaved children and young people living across the whole of North Derbyshire. North Derbyshire is an area of approximately 800 square miles with a population of approximately 400,000 people. North Derbyshire has isolated rural areas which include the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales; urban areas with levels of high deprivation and areas with a history of large heavy industry, manufacturing, and mining. This employment has declined in some cases dramatically, leading to 12% of people in North Derbyshire becoming income deprived. Our aim is to support as many people living with life limiting illness across North Derbyshire as possible, and strategically to reach those from underserved and marginalised groups to ensure that they have equitable access to our holistic care and support. However, the cost of providing our specialist care and historic lack of fair statutory funding has sadly led to a reduction in the number of beds available on our Inpatient Unit and the provision of wellbeing and support services. Therefore, we sincerely hope that you will support us to continue to care for the people of North Derbyshire and increase access to our specialist palliative and end of life care by supporting us in the following ways: Grants and funds which enable us to carry out capital and revenue projects. Instore fundraising for the delivery and widening of access to our care Volunteering for us (individually or as an organisation) at the Hospice or in one of our many fundraising events. Providing us with Gifts in Kind, for example tools for our volunteer gardeners to maintain our gardens enjoyed by our patients and their families. We would also welcome food surplus items which are suitable for consumption by our patients staying on our Inpatient Unit, those attending our Day Hospice, community support groups, or for use in our on-site café which is open to the public and helps us to raise funds towards our care. Items could also be included in our hampers and fundraising raffle prizes, and non-food surplus which could be suitable for use in other areas of the Hospice, for example, in our gardens or Day Services wellbeing activities. The Emily Harris Foundation supports the Neonatal Unit at King's Mill Hospital, Mansfield and the Special Care Baby Unit at Bassetlaw Hospital, Worksop. We give support to families with babies on the units through the provision of Welcome Packs, transport tokens, meal vouchers, snack station, counselling service and many other practical methods. We also support the additional training of staff where this is not funded by the NHS.
