How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Marks & Spencer has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

CHOMP

Lincoln, UK

From Our Community, For Our Community 💚 CHOMP is a 100% volunteer-run Community Interest Company supporting individuals and families across Lincoln and the surrounding areas. We rescue surplus food, provide free community food distributions, emergency food parcels, household essentials and community activities that reduce food waste, tackle food insecurity and bring people together. We are always looking for surplus food donations, volunteers, business partnerships and financial support to help us reach even more people. Founded on the belief that nobody should go hungry or feel alone, CHOMP has become much more than a food support organisation. We are a community where everyone is welcomed with dignity, compassion and without judgement. We are currently in the process of registering as a CIO. Working alongside supermarkets, local businesses, FareShare and community partners, we rescue perfectly good surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it free of charge through regular community distributions, emergency support and outreach. Alongside food support we also provide toiletries, hygiene products, flowers, household essentials and signposting to other local services. Throughout the year we organise free family events, children’s activities, community litter picks, seasonal celebrations, wellbeing initiatives and volunteering opportunities that help reduce loneliness and strengthen community connections. Since launching, CHOMP has: 💚 Delivered over 726 emergency food parcels 💚 Supported over 900 households 💚 Redistributed the equivalent of 33,836 meals 💚 Prevented over approximately 25,967kg of CO₂ emissions 💚 Saved many tonnes of perfectly edible food from becoming waste Everything we provide is completely free, with no referral required for our community distributions and no judgement for those who need support. As demand continues to grow, we are now fundraising to secure a permanent CHOMP Community Hub. Having our own permanent premises will allow us to expand our food support, safely store donations, increase volunteer opportunities, provide indoor community activities throughout the year and create a welcoming space where local people can access support, connect with others and build stronger communities. How you can support CHOMP We would love to hear from organisations, individuals and businesses who can help through: • Surplus food donations • Fundraising opportunities • Toiletries and household essentials • Financial donations • Volunteer opportunities • Business sponsorship and partnerships • Equipment, storage or premises support • Sharing our work within your networks Every donation, volunteer hour and partnership helps us support more local people while reducing food waste and strengthening our community. Together we can ensure good food doesn’t go to waste and no one in our community is left behind. From Our Community, For Our Community. 💚 Email: CHOMPlincolnshire@gmail.com

Lincolnshire YMCA

Lincoln, UK

YMCA Lincolnshire supports over 170 of the most vulnerable homeless members of our community at any time, and up to around 300 in a single year. We provide guidance, enrichment and opportunities to each individual who uses our services, and are committed to helping them achieve their potential in mind, body and spirit, and in the area of life which matter most to them. We consistently strive to improve our services, and the accommodation sites in which those spaces are delivered, so that each person we work with can feel happy, healthy and safe, throughout their journey with us. That journey will come to a close whenever the individual is ready, perhaps moving to a specialist accommodation to meet their needs, or achieving the ultimate goal of independent living. Our organisation also supports children in nursery and youth work settings, provides physical activities, supports people with education, employment and training, and delivers community engagement opportunities for older people. We are here to support those who need us, and are passionate about playing a significant role in the lives of the people who use our many services. The support of volunteers and donors is always gratefully received, and we welcome conversation with potential professional partners, future volunteers, and anyone else who wishes to engage with us. Thank you.
