M&S Letterkenny

Innovative student-led initiative aims to reduce food waste from supermarkets by redistributing surplus food donated to us amongst students, whilst fostering sustainability and community spirit. We also collect Re-Turn bottles and cans at dedicated bins across the University campus. The proceeds of the bottles & cans collected are split equally between a local charity and to purchase bulk foodstuffs for students. This food is then distributed to our students from the student union centre, emphasising environmental responsibility and reducing food waste.

We Care’s mission is to work in partnership with local agencies to assist those affected by food poverty and food deprivation within a defined area. We Care’s goal is at all times to maintain dignity and respect for participants for whom we provide services.

LYFS- Local Youth & Family Service is working LYFS is a voluntary community managed service for children, young people and the families of Donegal. LYFS aims- To benefit the community of Letterkenny and Donegal by the establishment, running, organising and managing of youth and family services, which promotes general and personal development by providing opportunities to develop physical, mental and social needs through the medium of learning experiences, programmes and projects. To provide needs-based youth and family support service focusing on the individual and the family and particularly to those individuals and families who do not presently access services and are at risk and/or experiencing disadvantage. Working in partnership with statutory, non-statutory agencies to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing the needs of those people. It will provide the necessary support, education and guidance to young people and their families assisting them to move into a more positive position for their futures.
