We are fundraising to maintain and further develop our range of therapeutic and employment experience programmes that help people with mental health problems to develop self-confidence, motivation and skills. These are based in our six 'skill shops'; Catering, Conferencing & Events, Retail, Woodwork, Horticulture and Animal Care. Several of our skill shops operate as social enterprises, which means people gain experience in an environment which is supportive but also a real commercial setting. Some of our skill shops also provide people with the opportunity to undertake accredited qualifications. The skill shops provide a therapeutic environment that helps people to recover, but also a pathway back into work, education and vocational training, and the opportunity for people with mental health problems to rebuild their lives.
