To do our bit in helping to redistribute surplus supermarket food that would otherwise go to waste. Our main aim is to support ethnic minorities especially students who are here to study. From observation and personal experience most international students have sold most if not all they have to fund their education here. Some of them still send support to their families back home and with the state of the economy, its taking its toll. Setting up this will at least reduce the burden of spending too much money on food thereby channelling that to other aspects where its needed. There are organisations who already do this, however I've observed that there is still a lot that goes to waste everyday and the bureaucratic system the supermarket have doesn't do anything to reduce this waste

Our charity exists to improve the lives of everyone living in and around Fallin, with a focus on poverty alleviation, community empowerment, intergenerational integration and youth activities. 2023-26 priorities include: - Community Gardening - Christmas Lights - Family Fun Days - Youth Participation - Community Food Spaces Our charity’s objects are: - the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons living in Fallin and the surrounding areas. - The advancement of citizenship or community development through the promotion of civic responsibility, volunteering and rural regeneration within Fallin and the surrounding areas. - The advancement of education through the provision of activities that support educational and employment opportunities for people living in Fallin.

Start Up Stirling is a registered charity serving Stirling in Central Scotland. We assist and support families and individuals experiencing homelessness and financial hardship by providing home starter and wellbeing packs, as well as running food banks rural crisis food support across the Stirling area. We help those in need in the following ways: - provide basic home set-up items to local people who have been homeless and are starting again in a new tenancy. These packs improve the chances of individuals and families of retaining their tenancy - help to reduce stress and financial burdens when moving from homelessness to a new home - provide items which help with the transition into temporary accommodation - promote and encourage a practical community response to homelessness and financial hardship - provide food packs at point of crisis and offer support for three weeks for those who are unable to access other forms of support - support for those experiencing housing difficulties and finding it hard to cope - we help them settle into the community, offer a listening ear and link them with other helpful agencies - offer volunteering opportunities for individuals from all corners of our community We train our volunteers regarding confidentiality, boundaries and listening, and we provide ongoing support. All we ask is that you are willing to participate in the training, and be willing to listen, share, laugh and be a friend. :) We are always looking for volunteers and have a number of different roles - driving, warehouse, foodbanks, rural deliveries, support services, fundraising, office support and wee projects. In addition we always need additional manpower around the festive period.
