How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Marks & Spencer has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Reaching Every Young Person with Cancer

Cardiff, UK

Cancer sucks. We’re here to make sure young people don’t face it alone. But, right now, for every young person we reach, there’s another we can’t. We won't just sit back and accept that. So we’re expending our work. Our 28 specialist wards (usually called units) in NHS main cancer hospitals will always be at the core of what we do. They’re places where our expert staff offer the best possible support to young people and their families, and where young people can be together and support each other too. But we need to go further and our units are central to making that happen. They’re becoming the regional hubs for our work right across the UK, as we make sure we’re there for every young person with cancer – wherever they’re treated. We’re building wider links within the NHS and employing new teams of Teenage Cancer Trust Nurses and Multi-Disciplinary Coordinators to work with hospitals where we don’t have units, giving young people more choice on where they might like to receive the best care and support, including in their own homes. This is a brand new way of working and a major step forward that will mean we can offer support to all young people with cancer. We’re also creating more opportunities for young people with cancer to help each other through our units or through a growing number of support events. All of this will change the lives of young people with cancer. To make this happen, we need to raise £20 million every year by 2020, and that’s where I’m hoping you might be able to help…
