The main objects for which the company is established is to promote and support by the provision of facilities, equipment, personnel and otherwise, the general improvement of the treatment, care and welfare of patients in accordance with the mercy care south governance charter at the mercy university hospital cork; and to raise funds, fundraise, and undertake new fundraising initiatives for the mercy university hospital cork (including its subsidiary companies) and coordinate fundraising activities being carried out for and on behalf of the mercy university hospital cork (inlcuding its subsidiary companies). in furtherance of the foregoing main object, the company shall have the following subsidiary objects: a) encourage projects and programmes that enhance health and patient welfare through new and innovative prevention rehabilitation and other medical programmes in accordance with the governance charter; b) promote, encourage and foster the carrying out of medical, scientific and surgical research relating to the treatment of patients (both adult and children) at the mercy university hospital cork in accordance with the governance charter; c) investigate the action and effects of various drugs and similar and related substances as may from time to time become available and used in medicine and the treatment of patients at the mercy university hospital cork in accordance with the governance charter; d) promote the teaching and training of suitably qualified persons in the techniques of research and the acquisition of knowledge and information in medical practice and the treatment of patients at the mercy university hospital cork in accordance with the governance charter.

We help to build self-esteem, confidence, giving encouragement where it’s needed to promote positive mental health, skills for life, ability to excel in areas of strength and open new doors to the future, The club was founded by Karen and Jon O' Mahony in 2015 when along with many families in Cork they suffered the lack of resources for their children on the spectrum in Ireland. Particularly with regard to early intervention they felt the need to take matters into their own hands. When it all began in June 2015, 26 children attended the Rainbow Club on a weekly basis. By January 2016, 125 children were attending every week. By January 2017 the Rainbow Club had 237 children on a weekly basis and are now running at full capacity with over 312 children using our services. We have a waiting list of over 128 families waiting to join the Rainbow Club. To facilitate these numbers, the Rainbow Club requires a bigger premises which is tirelessly fundraised for. We are however very fortunate in our current home of Mahon Community Centre and we strive to make this environment a place of enjoyment and fun for all our members and families. We have recently opened our community café which brings together locals and our families at club as well as our older members who under the mentorship programme learn to cook for and attend the café.

The Cork Cancer Care Centre is a charity, who support women and men who have been directly or indirectly affected by cancer, their carers’, families and friends. The Centre offers a 'home away from home' where members and their families can come for free counselling, holistic therapies, workshop’s, complementary therapies and general support in a positive and uplifting environment. With the exception of one full time person, and two part time workers, the centre operates from Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, with the help of wonderful volunteers. Cork Cancer Care Centre offer counselling/psychotherapy along with many holistic therapies such as reflexology, meditation, mindfulness, reiki, lymphatic drainage holistic massage, art therapy and yoga. Our focus in Cork Cancer Care Centre is on mental health and well-being which is why we don’t limit the number of sessions to each client. The same is true for the holistic therapies we offer. Each client that avails of the services in Cork Cancer Care Centre, can be assured that their treatment and counselling will continue for as long as is needed. We also welcome family members or carers to use the services offered. We supply the Blankets of Hope to those going through cancer via oncology, radiotherapy and haematology wards in Munster. We also hand out blankets in our centre and in exceptional cases we post them to patients. We also supply St James’ Ward in Dublin as well as Ronald McDonald house. As of the end of January 2020, over 20,000 blankets have been given to those on the journey with cancer. Currently, we are the only wig bank in Ireland. We offer free wigs which have very kindly been donated to us to help those who find themselves in financial difficulty on the journey. Our Cancer Warriors are a unique and innovative group, aged between 25 and 55 (approx) who support each other via a WhatsApp group and regular meetings. The Warriors are on different stages of their journey with cancer. The group share their experiences with each other which helps to give them a voice in a world where they often feel overwhelmed. Through these shared experiences, many fears are eased, questions are answered and more importantly, people don’t feel so alone. Many lifelong friendships have been formed by clients who have attended the centre. The Cancer Warrior group is supported by our office staff, our professional psychotherapists/counsellors and our holistic therapists. Cork Cancer Care Centre offer informative talks on different topics throughout the year. For example, mindfulness, mindful eating, homeopathy, acupuncture, The Lymph Clinic, the use of essential oils for well-being, taking care of the hair during each stage of treatment which results in hair loss and an expert in the field of prosthesis and fitting of bras for lady’s post-surgery.
