The Salvation Army is a Christian Church and meeting place for local people. We operate a Cafe and Furniture store, Toddler Group & Lunch Club We support homeless people with shower facilities and fresh clothing, plus those with addictions or mental health challenges.. We are a safe place for those suffering from human trafficking to seek advice and help, we signpost folk to further support with other appropriate agencies and statutory services they may not be aware of. We offer support without prejudice, and seek to serve the community in a way appropriate with our Christian faith of sharing what we have with others. Working alongside other church and faith groups we aim to bring hope and a sense of purpose to those who feel invisible to the wider community and when possible offer opportunity for folk to gain confidence and new skills as volunteers with us serving the local community. We are open 7 days a week as a drop in for people to find support and a listening ear in a crisis or difficulty. We have family Christian church services each Sunday with children's and youth activity and social action projects. Our ethos is 'Hand to humanity, heart to God' showing Christian love in both actions and words
