Kilcooley Women's Centre, established in 1995, supports women, children and families in the Ards and North Down region of Northern Ireland. The centre provides wrap around support including training, education, childcare, employability, mentoring and coaching, young women's programmes, intergenerational projects, health and wellbeing, physical activity, good relations and peace building. Kilcooley Women's Centre is one NI's leading Erasmus+ Adult Education European mobility training organisations, providing opportunities for training across Europe, with partnerships in countries including Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria and the UK. KWC is registered with the main UK awarding bodies enabling it to operate fully as an independent community college, supporting lifelong learning at the heart of the community, ranging from essential skills maths and English, to GCSEs. The centre is currently developing a blende learning approach, with access to online learning materials during COVID19 lockdown, which will develop into an urban/rural virtual college post-covid19 for the region. When funding permits, the organisation works on outreach throughout the Borough, transcending rural and urban communities, reaching the most margainilsed participants with project activity.

The Resurgam Trust is a membership organisation working across 6 communities in Lisburn seeking to improve the communitites from within and in partnership. Focusing on addressing the social determinants of health through early intervention, youth and community development programmes, training, education and learning, a focus on health improvement, peace and social justice initiatives and the creation of employment and volunteering opportunities. We have a comprehensive projects such as Resurgam Youth Initiative operating 6 days/nights per week including inclusion and outreach programmes; Resurgam Healthy Living Centre providing programmes on social prescribing with referrals from primary care, self referrals and holiday lunch clubs & cooking programmes; community safety programme including meals provision to those in need (disabled, Carers, hardship, older people, ill with covid/other conditions). We operate social enterprises providing employment and training including work placements for local people. We operate programmes to improve mental health of young people and adults in the community. We have opened (from July 22) the Resurgam Healthy Living Centre Community Fridge. We provide food donated from supermarkets or community partners/gardens to others within the community to reduce food waste.

We are volunteers who run a community garden and have just received a community fridge to help reduce food surplus waste. We would like to be added to the scheme which supplies charities like ours with surplus foods from supermarkets
