CHOMP

Lincoln, UK

From Our Community, For Our Community 💚 CHOMP is a 100% volunteer-run Community Interest Company supporting individuals and families across Lincoln and the surrounding areas. We rescue surplus food, provide free community food distributions, emergency food parcels, household essentials and community activities that reduce food waste, tackle food insecurity and bring people together. We are always looking for surplus food donations, volunteers, business partnerships and financial support to help us reach even more people. Founded on the belief that nobody should go hungry or feel alone, CHOMP has become much more than a food support organisation. We are a community where everyone is welcomed with dignity, compassion and without judgement. We are currently in the process of registering as a CIO. Working alongside supermarkets, local businesses, FareShare and community partners, we rescue perfectly good surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it free of charge through regular community distributions, emergency support and outreach. Alongside food support we also provide toiletries, hygiene products, flowers, household essentials and signposting to other local services. Throughout the year we organise free family events, children’s activities, community litter picks, seasonal celebrations, wellbeing initiatives and volunteering opportunities that help reduce loneliness and strengthen community connections. Since launching, CHOMP has: 💚 Delivered over 726 emergency food parcels 💚 Supported over 900 households 💚 Redistributed the equivalent of 33,836 meals 💚 Prevented over approximately 25,967kg of CO₂ emissions 💚 Saved many tonnes of perfectly edible food from becoming waste Everything we provide is completely free, with no referral required for our community distributions and no judgement for those who need support. As demand continues to grow, we are now fundraising to secure a permanent CHOMP Community Hub. Having our own permanent premises will allow us to expand our food support, safely store donations, increase volunteer opportunities, provide indoor community activities throughout the year and create a welcoming space where local people can access support, connect with others and build stronger communities. How you can support CHOMP We would love to hear from organisations, individuals and businesses who can help through: • Surplus food donations • Fundraising opportunities • Toiletries and household essentials • Financial donations • Volunteer opportunities • Business sponsorship and partnerships • Equipment, storage or premises support • Sharing our work within your networks Every donation, volunteer hour and partnership helps us support more local people while reducing food waste and strengthening our community. Together we can ensure good food doesn’t go to waste and no one in our community is left behind. From Our Community, For Our Community. 💚 Email: CHOMPlincolnshire@gmail.com

Oxford Mutual Aid

Oxford, UK

Oxford Mutual Aid is a volunteer led organisation network. Formed in response to covid-19, our core focus is helping those who, for whatever reason, struggle to access help through existing agencies. We work with a range of charities, local government, and other community groups to get help to those who need it. Mutual Aid is about solidarity rather than charity - though we work alongside many wonderful charities. Many of our volunteers also receive aid through the organisation, and we work hard to reduce the stigma around asking for support. If we can safely offer people assistance, we do so, and without any means testing. We are currently supporting around 250 households per week. We also deliver around 700 reheatable meals to people who do not have access to cooking facilities, to food insecure families in and around oxford as well as to people who are homeless. We also provide support to existing organisations including Oxford Gatehouse, Oxford Community Action, Oxford Homeless Movement, Refugee Resource, African Families in the UK and others. We have also produced over 500 washable masks for key workers and care homes, as well as providing over 1500 meals to NHS workers.

Helps For All CIC

Sittingbourne, UK

Helps For All CIC is a community organisation based in Kent. Our team is made up of passionate individuals with lived experiences of hardship, migration, and social exclusion. Together, we bring expertise in social work, community outreach, and grassroots organising. We founded Helps For All to address the growing challenges of food poverty, homelessness, and social isolation particularly among Black ethnic communities and other vulnerable groups. Through our programmes in food distribution, housing support, and wellness outreach, we provide not only emergency assistance but also hope, dignity, and long-term empowerment. Our vision is to build a connected and resilient community where no one is left behind a community where everyone, regardless of background, has access to food, shelter, support, and a genuine sense of belonging. The project operates from a community hall on the High Street and supports individuals referred by partner organisations. In addition to food assistance, we offer help to those experiencing loneliness or homelessness. All our services are provided free of charge, ensuring that support remains accessible to everyone who needs it. With your support, we aim to: Expand our food support programme by purchasing food supplies and covering packaging and delivery costs. Train volunteers in safeguarding, wellbeing, and community care. Provide temporary emergency accommodation for individuals and families at risk of homelessness. Run community wellbeing sessions to tackle isolation, promote mental health, and strengthen social connections. Every pound you donate helps us reach more people faster with warmth, care, and practical solutions that truly change lives.
