The bright morning star prisons and homelessness outreach is an award winning, non for profit organisation that has been service Londoners since 2015, Our aims and objectives is the relief and prevention poverty and homelessness across London. The organisation is doing this by running community outreach, Day centre's, coffee morning and Prisons visits to His Majesty Prisons across London. The Bright Morning Star Prisons And Homelessness Outreach head office is Chartharm Court community hall, Canterbury crescent Brixton SW9 7PT. The Day Centre is 1 Opal Street Peddlar Acre Community hall, Kennighton SE11 4HZ Although the organization in base in Lambeth but we Outreach to Homeless, rough sleepers and Prisons inmates in Southwark, Wandsworth, Croydon, West Minister Councils. and Stratford. Our organisation is a first point contact for ex offenders, rough sleepers and the homeless to get support for reintegration after they left prison. We run 5 days a week with the help of our dedicated volunteers, management and staff. The bms activities include coffee morning, food sharing community food service, , food pick up and distribution, prison visit, outreaches, housing advice, benefit advice, sign posting, trainings. art and craft, one to one counselling service and mediating between landlord and tenants. We support, elevate and help to rebuild the lives of the the most vulnerable people in London eg older people, job seekers, those on low income, Assylum seekers, refuges and the homeless people etc. The BMS is a Registered Contractor to Lambeth Council and community hall that we are using in Chartham court belong to the Council that has seen the good work that we do and offer us the space to use. we use the hall 7 days a week for the past 2 years. The Council refurbished the hall and launching was done in August 2025. We continue to partners with Job Centres that attend day centre in Kennington, Streatham and Kennington Job Centre twice a Month, Hygiene Bank, Greggs food Foundation cooperative stores, Pret A Manger Look Ahead homeless shelter, Stockwell probation services, Wandsworth Probation, and healthy living platform Lambeth, Felix Project and Fares hare, St Mathew Estate, Mursel hall, Cooperative store etc

We befriend people to relieve isolation and loneliness while informing of opportunities around them, supporting them to achieve potentials by improving skills already possessed through volunteering/ work experience and placements and or providing new skills for life chances and sustainability. Based in a rented shop unit in Grahame Park Estate, 7 The Concourse, NW9 5XB, used as a Church meeting place on Sundays, we provide Youth Club on Thursday and Friday evenings, warm space in cold weather and cool space in warm weather and provide health & wellbeing activities for people aged 55+. We offer seasonal parenting programme to strengthen families and our community. We provide daily good surplus food redistribution to relieve food hunger and to prevent wastage towards Net Zero 2050, and weekly food bank with fitness exercises, and monthly nutrition advice session with social prescribing. We offer advice and referrals as needed. We provide employment skills training towards self-sustainability. We also provide financial support funded by Acts 435 and household support fund in collaboration with BOOST of Barnet Group. World Book Day is our biggest single volunteering effort each year. Every March over 500 colleagues from Penguin Random House UK volunteer in schools and communities local to our sites and some of the most literacy-vulnerable parts of London. Colleagues deliver storytelling sessions to little ones and reading activities in primary schools. They also facilitate interactive careers workshops with teenagers in secondary schools and host book club discussions with adults in homeless shelters, community centres and care homes.
