We run a weekly foodbank out of the WG Grace community centre at Grove Park. It is open Wednesdays 10am - 11am. This will be staffed by volunteers and the ChART Cic. Our food bank will provide an important resource for the local community . By offering a range of resources and advice on our food bank days. We will be able to support the health and well-being of individuals and families. We know that within the Chinbrook area there is a higher number of people unemployed and only 34% are in full time employment. 24% of children are living in poverty. 19% of people live with a life limiting illness . Supporting those in need with immediate food support and with advice will help people manage their difficulties and to move forward. What we require is a constant supply of food both ambient and perishable to help us help our community.

Over the past eight years, Community Needs Foundation (CNF) has worked very hard to build relationships with some of the most deprived and underprivileged individuals in Royal Borough of Greenwich. We operate our foodbank from a community venue in Abbey Wood, South East London, where we sort, and distribute food donations and essential household items to individuals and families in need which includes; family with children, older adults, unemployment/low income, No Recourse to Public Funds. Our service provides a safe and welcoming environment for service users to access support and advice. As a community foodbank, our greatest need is sustainable funding to enable us to continue serving our growing community effectively. We are seeking support to help cover: Core organisational running costs, including rent, utilities, insurance, equipment, and essential operational expenses. Staff salaries, ensuring we can retain experienced staff to coordinate our services, support volunteers, manage referrals, and provide consistent assistance to those in need. Programme funding to expand and sustain our community initiatives, including emergency food provision, culturally appropriate food packages, our Coffee Chat for Over 60s, cookery and healthy eating sessions, and other health and wellbeing activities. Continued food donations, including fresh, frozen, ambient, and culturally appropriate food, to ensure we can provide nutritious food parcels and respond to increasing demand throughout the year. Food and essential supplies, to meet increasing demand from individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Volunteer recruitment and training, helping us maintain a strong volunteer workforce to deliver our services safely and effectively. With increasing demand for our services and rising operating costs, long-term funding is essential to ensure we can continue supporting vulnerable individuals and families while responding to the changing needs of our local community.

REHOBOTH COMMUNITY OUTREACH CLUB located 1-18 Allwood Close, Sydenham SE26 4JP is a charity and it has been entered onto the Register of Charities with the Registered Charity Number 1168822. Rehoboth Community Outreach club started reaching out to vulnerable families in 2013, offering befriending, parenting & life skills training. Over time the services evolved expanding to offer mentoring to young people, employment skills training and a food bank. In March 2014 Rehoboth started receiving requests for support with addressing the increasing issue of food poverty amongst the single homeless living in hostels and the local street homeless, this saw the launch of the Community Lunch Club. Initially the lunch club was feeding 20 people every Monday with a 2 course hot meal. But this number quickly grew to 150 people a week when Rehoboth partnered with Miriam Lodge providing meals to their most vulnerable homeless residents. The partnership has expanded and Rehoboth community outreach club “The Lunch Club” now deliver 200 meals every Monday across 2 hostels. In addition, we have some homeless people living locally in the community who walk-in and collect their meals. The feeding programme also provides a soup social, with home cooked vegetable and chicken soup with rolls to the residents in the hostels on a Friday. The generosity of our local donors business and others in neighbouring community, with financial donations from the church membership and individuals, make it possible to provide our services free to vulnerable individuals and families. The community outreach service is facilitated by a team of 25 volunteers who cook, serve food, clean, deliver the meals, and provide the befriending, mentoring and training activities. Rehoboth hopes to double its feeding programme to 300 meals a week by the end of 2018; to support at least 50 homeless people to capacity build their employment and life skills, enhancing their potential of accessing employment, education and training opportunities. The Rehoboth Community Outreach Club aims are to contribute to breaking the generational cycle of poverty and deprivation within families, inspire hope & healing in the heart and soul of vulnerable individuals and communities and encourage peace, unity and respect across generations. We seek and appreciate further financial, time and resource donations that enable us to meet our vision of UK communities free from food poverty and benefiting from sustained upward social and economic mobility for everyone.
