How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, JD Foundation has donated money, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Westbourne House

Hull, UK

At Westbourne House, We provide short term accommodation 24 hours a day for 53 people. We serve 3 meals a day, ongoing support with a designated and committed support worker, signposting and referrals to any relevant services and assistance. Our education and enjoyable activities promote social inclusion and wellbeing. We want to help our service users to not only live independently but to thrive. That's why we offer assessments to all homeless people who attend our service. This helps us to understand any issues that are preventing each person from maintaining a tenancy successfully. We are then able to refer them to a more appropriate form of accommodation OR work with them with a person centred approach to help them become ready to live independently in the community.

Rekindle

Manchester, UK

Rekindle is a bold, youth-led charity which is flipping the script on education. First opening its doors in Hulme (Manchester), Rekindle has been revolutionising the way we support and educate young people since 2022. Co-designed during the pandemic by eight young people aged between 17 and 25 who recognised that the education system is unfairly stacked against young people from working-class and global majority backgrounds, Rekindle exists to spark a love of learning in disadvantaged young people and support them to become creative critical thinkers who are inspired and empowered to create change within their communities. Starting as a small grassroots movement, we have now become a national charity with a presence in London and Dundee, and hopes to continue expanding across the UK. Our flagship supplementary school for 11-14 year olds and HQ based in Hulme has become a community hub over the years, supporting marginalised groups and offering local residents a soulful space within which they can find solidarity and a sense of belonging. We recently launched the Rekindle Pantry in March 2025, an informal foodbank which supports members of the community impacted by the cost of living crisis and rising rates of food insecurity. We aim to expand our provision and reach through partnerships with supermarkets and businesses, to ensure that the Pantry remains sustainable and continues to have a positive impact on the community. Volunteers are always welcome! From helping out during evening sessions with the young people we work with, lending a hand with the Rekindle Pantry, giving up a bit of your free time to do some gardening, DIY, or repairs, supporting us at events and so much more, there is always something to do that would make a massive difference. If you are interested in partnering or volunteering with Rekindle, please get in touch with our Community and Corporate Partnerships Lead, Cara at cara@rekindle school.org

JD Foundation Colleague Charity Nominations 2025

We are building stronger youth communities through the funding and support of key organisations, nominated by JD Colleagues and aligned with our vision.

JD Foundation Community Give Back 2026

Building stronger youth communities, together. Every time a customer donates 20p at the till in one of our JD, GO Outdoors, Blacks, Millets or Size? stores, that small act of generosity powers something bigger. Those 20p donations help fund the JD Foundation’s Community Give Back; a colleague‑led grant giving programme that supports youth‑focused charities across the UK.

JD Foundation Charity Partners 2025

Thanks to the donations we receive through the sale of our iconic duffle bags, we are able to support selected charities through our Charity Partnerships scheme. In 2025/26, we have partnered with 25 charities across the UK who work both nationwide and in their local areas that support young people across the UK to achieve their unlimited potential. As well as funding our partners financially, we also aim to support all of them further where we can by volunteering, giving donations and attending events where we can to reach our mission of building stronger youth communities and transforming young people’s lives through opportunities, engagement and social change.

JD Foundation Charity Partners 2024

JD Foundation will support a number of charity partners across the UK with a focus on our key retail areas. We want to partner with charities who can build high-impact programmes that allow young people to achieve their unlimited potential. All of these funds will come from the sale of JD duffle bags across UK stores.
