I’ve learnt to talk to people instead of keeping it all in.’ Foundations, Flexibility, and Fun Motiv8 is a place based, life-chance charity empowering those often excluded from or missed by other services toward a brighter future. For 25-years we have worked with young people and their families offering long-term lasting support in four of the UK’s most underinvested in communities - Gosport, Fareham, Portsmouth, and Havant. Motiv8 recognises that there are many factors which can lead to instability at home, a person needing support around their emotional health or wellbeing, or place young people and their families at increased risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour or crime. Through welcoming, warm youth hubs, trusted mentoring, empowering skills sessions, and programmes that engage our community we take a person-centred whole family approach. Building what is strong not what is wrong, and providing positive ‘life chances’ allowing all to thrive. With our wards in the top 10% for UK deprivation, ‘Real Poverty’ is the reality for most with 92% of service users are now from socio-economic disadvantage. Against this backdrop acting early and offering the ‘Foundations, Flexibility, and Fun’ that is Motiv8’s trademark to those aged 9-19 has never been more important.  Foundations: Ensuring essential service costs that underpin and enable expert youth work are met;  Flexibility: Empowering teams, trusting their judgement so they can help each individual as a person;  Fun: Delivering activities that families tell us they value & young people share they want to be part of. A best in class youth work provider - recognised nationally by organisations such as Children In Need, Barnardo’s and the National Youth Agency - we are embedded in our communities and committed to individuals. We are committed to our communities. Motiv8 will always be there with the right support, delivered in the right way, at the right moment.

Our Main work in Bushey is to build resilient communities and reduce isolation. We distribute surplus food to families going through, hold regular events and have get togethers on our allotment. We create personalised food packages and conversations over the sharing of food. We try to build confidence and reduce isolation and the fear of interactions. We have a sustainable focus developing long term eco solutions and working intergenerationally sharing skills and finding ways to work around various limiting circumstances. Mental/physical health issues, tempoarty housing (long term homelessnes), Carers facing isolation, financial crisis, domestic abuse and youth work including school exclusions and family cohesion issues. Another key area is an allotment to grow and distribute fresh produce from. This allotment not only provides produce but offers an opportunity for locals to exercise and socialise. The space is also used as a place to share music, and thoughts and various groups come together to work on improving the allotment and bonding through activities.

Sufra is a charity in North West London that prevents hunger, fights poverty and builds community. With the help of our volunteers and partners, we coordinate a network of food banks, kitchens, a community shop and café. These act as a gateway for guests to access more holistic support – including welfare advice, asylum support and our award-winning community garden. We aim to work with our guests to find solutions to their challenges together, whilst campaigning against the causes of hunger and poverty.
