Depaul’s mission is to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it. Depaul’s London services include emergency overnight, and longer term hostel based accommodation which support over 400 vulnerable young people every year (aged 16-25 years) who face the terrible prospect of being homeless and sleeping rough. Depaul UK focuses on young people in crisis and beyond. We support them by offering a safe place to stay in a crisis, helping them to take the step from homelessness into stable housing and providing specialist long-term support to help get lives back on track. Our goal is to empower people who face homelessness, improving their quality of life and helping them stay off the streets for good. Over the past 27 years Depaul has grown and developed to work with some of the most disadvantaged young people in the UK and specialises in working in communities where poverty and long-term unemployment have resulted in generations of social exclusion and high rates of homelessness. Depaul needs volunteers to help with the following: Teams to take on gardening challenges at Depaul hostels. Volunteers to run workshops (coding skills etc.) and host ‘work taster’ sessions to support young homeless people into employment. Mentors to provide 1-1 employability support for young homeless people

Look beyond the farmyard and you see a range of activities that support vulnerable adults, disadvantaged young people and children growing up in the city. St Werburghs City Farm is a green oasis in the heart of Bristol that connects people to their food, the environment and the local community. Everyone can attend for free. We are open seven days a week, attracting over 40,000 visitors per year. Our vision at St Werburghs City Farm is to be a truly inspirational city-centre farm that supports an informed, healthy and cohesive community to live, learn and play in harmony with its environment. We support some of Bristol’s most disadvantaged residents. Our small working farm and community garden is here for adults with learning difficulties and mental health concerns to enjoy training placements and therapeutic activities in horticulture and animal care. During the course of their placement, our trainees learn new skills, gain new interests, grow in confidence, develop support networks and attain greater independence - all whilst playing an active role within the community. Become a volunteer by helping to feed the animals, support an adult with learning difficulties in the garden or volunteer at a community event. Or get a team together and undertake a maintenance project such as: building raised beds, mending fences, laying paths etc.

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, working directly with some of society’s most vulnerable 16-25 year olds. Our work extends far beyond providing a room - every year we help over 14,000 young people to tackle the complex issues that led to them becoming homeless and give them the tailored support they need to move on to an independent adult life. Centrepoint services include: • A warm, safe room for young people every night • Specialist psychotherapy, counselling and healthy living support • Accredited education programmes and one-to-one tutoring • Life-skills courses such as cooking and budgeting • Career development opportunities, employability programmes and access to work experience and training We are incredibly proud that 88% of the young people that we support move on with a positive outcome.
