Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.
Through Neighbourly, Neighbourly Partners has donated money and volunteer time, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.
Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.
Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.
Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.
Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Inependent food banks, community fridges, social supermarket. We are a not for profit organisation that has been running since 2012. Currently we distribute over 40 tonnes of food a month to thousands of families. In particular the people benefiting are mostly in receipt of universal credit and D.L.A, or are currently to embarrassed to use a food bank, and ours has choice and dignity where our clients can choose what they need. Primarily we advertise as a climate change project that helps to reduce poverty by supplying food weekly in multiple areas, this reduces the stigma of use. This is to reduce food waste, help save the planet, and get children involved in organising and planning food shares. We work closely with the home educated community and many other zero waste community groups. Lots of our volunteers have long term mental health issues or are on benefits, and we are a lifeline to them both for food and the community. We have been doing humanitarian aid work in the local community and internationally for 7 years. We sent out 180 tonnes of aid in 2016/2017 to various organisations and supported many local families. In September 2019 we started The Food Share Project. A project covering Telford, Shropshire, West Midland and into Wales, to reduce food waste form the food industry, mainly supermarkets & wholesalers, and safely transport and distribute the food to the local communities via food banks. We evolved fast. When the Covid19 pandemic hit the UK and we went into lockdown in March 2020, the demand for our services of our independant foodbank increased hugely. We opened a discout pallet supermarket in September 2020 which enabled us to rescue and sell more food. The funds from our supermarket enable us to further support our independant foodbank. More recently we have reacted to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. To date, we have sent out 1000 pallets of aid on over 23 lorries to Poland. This has been distributed, via our partners on the ground, to the refugees in Poland and also into Ukraine itself. We run community stores nationwide.

Great Yarmouth, UK
Great Yarmouth Pathway is a transforming safe space of light, welcome and engagement for the community of Great Yarmouth to support those in need. We operate to address the poverty and social isolation that is so prevalent in the area. Our goal is to be a venue that accommodates a range of services and provision all under one roof. The support offered has four main strands to it: the provision of a hot meal three times a week via our community cafe, a foodbank session once a week to provide emergency food for people in crisis, provision of a warm, safe space where friendships and support can be offered and signposting clients to organisations who can help with their difficult and complex circumstances. In 2025, we served 15,692 hot meals and distributed 4118 food parcels to individuals in our local community.

Neighbourly is proud to unveil its GoGive campaign, created to harness the collective power of the business community to support local charities across the UK and Ireland during the winter. For three months, from the start of December 2014 through to the end of February 2025, this mass collaborative initiative is bringing together businesses, their teams and customers through a huge boost in volunteering, product donations and fundraising initiatives.
This October, when the clocks go back, we don't just gain an hour of sleep - we gain a gift of time. Neighbourly is inviting the employees of its volunteering partner businesses to put this ‘extra hour’ to good use – by supporting a local charity or community organisation on the Neighbourly platform. Join the campaign and spend your Extra Hour doing something Neighbourly!
Neighbourly is proud to continue its GoGive campaign for winter 2025/26 - a campaign that was created to harness the collective power of the business community to support local charities across the UK and Ireland during the colder months. As part of GoGive this year, Neighbourly has partnered with Aldi, Certas and M&S to launch a new GoGive Resilience Fund to help local charities build capacity and help more people in need over the winter period.
Neighbourly's newest 'DigitalBridge' remote volunteering campaign will facilitate the transfer of digital expertise and AI knowledge from employee volunteers at multiple partner companies into Neighbourly's charity network. This initiative will be supported by online resources curated by Microsoft. DigitalBridge aims to bolster community charities and organisations that often lack resources and funding for digital upskilling initiatives. Recent research indicates charities increasingly need to reduce administrative workloads and have a growing interest in leveraging emerging technologies like AI and ChatGPT for maximum efficiency. Through this skills-based volunteering program, DigitalBridge will empower grassroots organisations to enhance their digital capabilities, streamline operations, and explore innovative solutions.
We partnered with Neighbourly to offer opportunities for the Diageo Legal Team to volunteer in London during the week of 13th May 2024. Find out more about what we got up to below.
At Neighbourly, we want to support our local communities by contributing our time and skills to volunteer locally. The local charities and good causes we have helped are celebrated on this page.

Neighbourly has partnered with Aldi to launch a new Spring Fund for emergency provision to families in need across the UK. Qualifying charities and groups in the Neighbourly network will be able to access microgrants of £500 to help them provide immediate aid to struggling families. This comes as cost-of-living payments to help with high energy and food bills have come to an end, leaving many families across the UK vulnerable. While the Chancellor announced in the budget that the Household Support Fund would be extended, many say that the failure to continue the fund past October will lead to an increase in families being unable to meet their basic needs. New research by Pro Bono Economics (PBE) and Nottingham Trent University has shown that since 2010, there has been a £13.bn reduction in council funds to charities, while a number of councils are now facing bankruptcy. This is further compounded by donations to local charities also being in decline due to the cost-of-living crisis.
Here at Neighbourly we know how important it is to support local communities. That's why in March 2020 we set up a Covid-19 Community Fund, backed by our partner businesses, to support the Neighbourly causes and individuals most affected. The Neighbourly Community Fund has now been incorporated into the Neighbourly Foundation, our permanent charitable arm, to enable us to respond quickly and efficiently to emergency need within our local communities.
In the UK, there's a £14bn shortfall in measures to help the poorest tackle fuel poverty this winter. Around 7 million homes in the UK will experience severe fuel poverty with health advocates warning that cold homes could exacerbate lung and breathing problems. Millions of people will be seeking extra support from their communities over the winter months ahead and the Neighbourly Community has raised concern around the shortfall in support versus the increased need: • 50% are planning to provide "warm banks" this winter - 23% for the first time • 60% have seen a drop in food donations • 65% have a seen a drop in financial donations • 63% are aiming to provide more food that requires little or no energy to prepare • The average energy bill for community charities is expected to rise by 119% (£7,600 pa to £16,700)
