ALDI NELSON

Troed y Bwyd, is community food pantry located in the school ground of Troedyrhiw primary school. Troed Y Bwyd has two parts to it, firstly is the food pantry and secondly a clothing and uniform swap shop, both of which are accessible to families of the school and community members. We are currently exploring a garden area, to grow our own food to offer in the food pantry. Currently we are developing a donations system to be put in place in the school yard, which will mean there will be donation boxes for food and clothing accessible 5 days a week.

Reaching out to the local communities of Nelson, Llanfabon, Treharris, Bedlinog, Edwardsville, Quakers Yard, Trelewis and Bedlinog providing emergency food parcels and access to fresh, affordable, quality fruit and vegetables. Taff Bargoed Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust network operated by the Parish of Treharris Trelewis Bedlinog & Llanfabon; working together with Family Food & Hygiene, The Community Food Co-op and Food Larders.

We are a community space in St Catherine's Church - a place to meet, make connections and a place to find help. We host toddler groups, craft groups, self help groups, Welsh conversation lessons, yoga and job seeking support and are always open to new community projects. We work with Pontypridd Foodbank and have free fresh food available through Neighbourly to support anyone in the area who needs it.
